Was checking out some of the other Forums around the web, was just curious to see what camaro and mustang guys have to say about new 392 since dyno testing on the new 392 and car n driver and some other guys doing are revealing latest test numbers, wow! they are either bothered, hating, or just trash talk, or all of the above. There are some that give credit where deserved and say comments like "Dodge finally doing something right" or more comments like "its still a fat pig, but oh!wait it runs mid 12's!" just funny to see the comments or threads on what is being said about the new 392 and over all just fear. But of course there is that one guy that post "my $5,000.00 value F-body will walk all over this thing, with my big 500ci stroker engine!" "they are too expensive anyways" etc, etc.

makes even me wonder should I even bother with supercharging my 2010 or just trade up! lol

If you plan on keeping your car supercharge it. Once you do that all the smack talk wont even matter. Once you are running 500 plus at the rear you will be able to more than hold your own.:)
Midwest
I hear you on that one! In the end I still came to that conclusion.:bigthumb:
cant wait! just doing a little more research work on this, but she should be blown before spring is over, going into summertime.

But like TinCuda says, "too funny", too funny indeed! Just funny to go and read what other people are saying about Mopar latley.

have any of you guys even raced a mustang or camaro yet?
aarcuda, there is another thread I believe in here where a 392 ran a new camaro ss pretty good. by the looks of all the test numbers, even with motorweeks down play of their test, this is still a tad faster then the ss testing numbers. also now with people out their dynoing these new 11's, they look like they are underrated at hp, they just dynoed a bone stock one at 443hp at the wheels, that sure doesnt sound like 470hp at the crank, that is more closer to 500hp at the crank, what I saw in other forums was people talking about how "dodge was conservative with hp numbers" and "this thing is more like 500hp", this is from other forums, not from here.

aarcuda, you seem to find it hard to believe? :scratchhead: lol.
hey I like all 3 car makers muscle cars, just a fan of mopar more then anything. And I give the other cars their props, just nice to finally here some credit for us "fat pig cars" :bigthumb:

matthewgood, I watch top gear all the time and they made fun of the SRT8 challenger in many ways, some which you already mentioned, but to tell you the truth they made fun of the new ZR1 corvette too! And we all know that thing is just a machine! They just put down anything American made period.

Also, what's with car and driver doing a head to head with the 392 and a Shelby? Not the Mustang Shelby GT500 you can see on the Ford website - the one you send off to Shelby America. The price difference between the cars is enormous - the shelby is more than double the price of a 392 IE. It has specific performance parts added to it, the works. Who, in their right mind, thinks doing a piece with these two cars even makes sense? It's like taking that Shelby and putting it up against a Ferrari GTB 599 and saying that the shelby's okay but it just can't match the overall power and handling of the 599 - which is three times as much.
agree with you 100%

I also said that I saw plenty of good comments on their too about the 392. Thats why I said "finally good to hear good comments about our fat pig cars" lol.

but I read alot of hate too. But nothing serious, its all fun n games and good times. muscle car wars have been going on forever. it wouldnt be any fun, if there was no competition.

here is a link, dont see much fear in this thread

2011 challenger srt8 5.0 killer?
not all had fear, I also put some had hate, some had good things to say and all of the above. right off the back when I went into that link the second reply had "yea but it is still a chrylser" sounds like hate to me.
All in all, like I said, it is just funny and interesting to see what other threads are saying. and sorry if I offended you in any way, with a name like "Cobra4me" sounds like you are a ford guy. I already gave the gt500 its props :bigthumb:

Man who cares who's 1/10 faster on any given day. This beast has no competition. There is ONLY ONE TRUE RETRO - MONSTER LOOKING - MUSCLE CAR on the road today.
P E R I O D!
very true hellraiser. I have a co worker who just bought a 10' gt500 about 3 months ago, beautiful car and oh yes, we will be running them soon, we have both been into a lot of trouble in our younger days with street racing, so we are waiting until we both get some time off and do some track runs.
but I will say this, and this is coming from a gt500 owner, he says he doesnt nearly get the attention on his gt500 that I get when he has been with me in my car. no doubt on that he said. He says he has to explain to people what a gt500 is because most people think it is just another mustang. I mean you would think at least the snake on it would catch your attention, but he said no, people just see him as another mustang. srt,rt,se, any challenger model gets more ooo's n awws then a mustang. And as for the camaro, its nice, but not nearly as retro as the challenger. And I do hope they keep selling them on the higher end to be honest, atleast I know they wont be dime a dozen like mustangs and camaros are. I drove from SD to LA last week twice, once for work and another to DC performance for some datalogging, and me and my buddy, decided we would count how many camaros we see and mustangs and chally's, and we counted 28 mustangs and just stopped counting, could have gone forever, and we counted 14 new camaros, and 2 challengers. when I was riding solo for work few days later, counted 20 mustangs (i stopped at 20 this time, could go on forever) and saw 12 new camaros and 1 challenger in LA and 1 more when I was getting home to SD, so 2 again.
just agreeing 100% with hellraiser. bottom line just get the one you like best. I went with the challenger because I know my bank will not finance me for my dream car a 70 challenger or I will take a cuda too :bigthumb:, but they will not finance me $40k+ for that, so this was the closest I can get for now! and who cares if they say it is fat and heavy, or slower, just put a blower on her and that will get you over 500rwhp no problem or more if you want with more tunning. lol

But I will say this, I got to see a 11' 5.0 mustang with a vortech recently in person, running close to 600hp, it was nasty! great car, But........still a mustang

ouch mustang hate in here I think we all should respec them all even the camaro
:bigthumb:I knew that post would get some attention, lol. come on guys, I respect them all too. this is coming from a previous owner of two mustangs, 94 mustang gt with vortech SC (ran it into a house running from the cops, long story here, because I should be in jail and by luck I am still here), 2004 terminator cobra (impounded twice for illegal street drags), hard lessons learned, but learned, btu I just got tired of seeing them evvvveerryywhereeeee. that was in my younger days, but still the same today, they are everywhere. I give my co worker a hard time all the time with his gt500. All fun and games man. I think the gt500's are wicked looking cars, the camaro is nice too. Hey, the great thing here is these are all american companies right? as long as we dont buy import? (even though I drive a 93 civic as a daily driver, lol ) :scratchhead:

there are other members on here that are mustang guys too, have had a few threads on this already and talked to some of those guys, like garagelogic and roman371, who are shelby owners, nothing but respect for those cars bro. Fast cars, faster then our cars, and the interior is very nice and you get more in those interiors then ours, just very small for me, but maybe works for others. I was agreeing with hellraiser on how the challengers look retro and a lot nicer and get a lot of attention. my co worker says his gt500 is way nicer then my challenger! lol:bigthumb:, so you see, everyone for their own likes and taste. And your in a challenger site, so of course we are nicer then anything out there, go to the camaro sites and they will be the nicest thing out there, go to the mustang site and they will be the top dog, so in the end, its what you like.

its not that easy they are pretty equal and the highway gas mileage for the 5.0 is 26. Dont forget I have owned both. I havent owned the 392 but does it take the extra displacement to beat a much cheaper (as you guys have posted) mustang.
everywhere I have looked it says 23-24, like this post on one of your fellow mustang sites says:

Also new for 2011 Mustang is a choice of either a new six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. Together with that variable cam technology (Ti-VCT) and "EPAS" (Ford's electronic power steering), a Mustang GTwith an automatic transmission will be able to achieve 25 mpg on the highway. That's up from 23 mpg for the current Mustang GT with an auto 'box. Both the 2010 and 2011 get 17 mpg in the city, while the six-speed manual Mustang gets 24 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg city.

but really this thread and argument could go on forever, I swear its like when I tailgate at the football games for my chargers and for USC football, season tix holder for both for 10 years now, I get into never ending arguments, and the same ol' thing over and over again, just a different team on another day. same thing here. lol lol

if we get into these comparisons and arguments here with just mopar, ford, and chevy, imagine if the import guys join in too! hahahahahahahah...RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it never ends, I am sure there are some fast WRX big boosting turbos out there that say they will walk all over all 3 of us all day! it goes on and on, like the energizer bunny. much props to all amercian makers right now, they are staying competitive and making nice cars, as long as it doesnt dip into how it was in the 80's and 90's when the guy with a stock 93 fox body stang or the 94 sn95 model stang, who thought he was fast with 180rwhp. lol! that was me! man was power down then, you had to mod like crazy. and here we are now with 400+hp and still complaining.

by the way, I just broke off a new mustang 5.0 on the way home right now, 5 lights in a row, but then again I have a blower, the look on his eyes was priceless. he had no clue I was boostin, he had windows slightly up and rockin to tool, poor kid. he hawked me down too! messed with the wrong chally. reason I know he had no clue I was boostin is he asked if I was stock! I said......yeah!, I couldnt keep a straight face though, I told him the truth.
I love being blown:eusa_dance: lol. reason why i did it. sorry to say but our cars are fat pigs, but comfy! now its a fat pig on crack!

FUnny Jamaya LOLOL
lol lol
Boomee,
:bigthumb:you see that should tell ya I have respect for mustangs, especially the new 5.0's, and of course the GT500 without a doubt. I had to get a blower for the fear I had when these 5.0's came out and also so I wouldnt feel so bad, because like a moron I bought a new 2010 like 6 months before the 392 came out, man did I kick myself in the ass for that!
