Yes, you can put different knobs on it. You just need to make sure you have the right thread size.

Yes, speed dawg, for example, will ship knobs with the appropriate insert.

Is that a nut on the bottom of the shift knob? This is on my list but that would bother me.

The pic above doesn’t look like it has one. Anyone know if it’s only needed on certain knobs?

As JustinHEMI said ..... yes, there's a jam nut.

It's necessary so that you can lock the shift knob down with the shift pattern facing the proper direction. I don't even notice it when I'm driving.

There's a jam nut on the purple shift knob as well. I guess you wouldn't need one if you had a plain knob with no shift pattern or graphics.
