Where the hell do you guys drive those things?! When I was up there and traveled a bit around the state they told us there are only like 5 roads !

(Besides city streets and what not) And those roads were a little rough from what I saw - at least out towards the Mt. McKinley - Anchorage area.

Awesome pictures though regardless!

That's pretty much it...there are around 5 main highways and all of them are a little rough. Its ok though...we have some long straightaways and some windy curves.

Good deal - at least you're less likely to get lost.

We were leaving the Denali State Park lodges and asked a local how to get to Anchorage. He said turn left and don't stop...if you get to Fairbanks you went the wrong way - turn around and go back the other way...

They were the best directions I've ever heard.

The roads are not that bad. The drive from Seward to Girdwood is fantastic as is Cantwell to about Trapper Creek. mostly 2 lane with some decent straights, hills and a lot of curves, fantastic scenery and in May and now until freeze up the roads are pretty much empty once you get out of town. The Glenn Highway is also nice but it really can be rough and bad frost heaves the further you go into the interior.

10-4 on the scenery. Alaska is the most beautiful place I've ever been. It should be on every American's bucket list of places to go.

The second pic is in front of Bridal Veil Falls just outside of Valdez Alaska. I was born and raised there, but moved to Anchorage. My parents still live there, so every now and then, I get to drive the Challenger and Charger there.
