took daughter and grand daughter to a car show in KC. had it cleaned up the best its been inside and out. show is only 5 miles from house and was able to go fairly slow there to keep from having bugs do suiside on my clean car.

sat by the car and listened to coments.

lots of love the challenger
lots of wow a 392
lots of love the color and cool interior.

the ones that got me was "those are high dollar cars"

maybe thats why sales on challengers is way below chevy and dodge. its a perception, an acurate perception but still a perception.

Well show was great and lots of cool cars to look at. so headed home, just cruising along at about 35 mph and the cars stutters a little and I look at the guages and my engine light comes on. car is 2 months old, just hit 1550 miles. can't take it to dealership until wednesday. too many meetings on monday and tuesday. not too happy to have issues with a new car. 3 other dodges with over 270,000 miles and no issues at all.

i took mine to a small ice cream drive in car show a few weeks ago...everyone kept looking at the interior mainly....i had my IE seats covered...not sure if they knew of the car and wanted to see the seats or what...

i didnt hear any comments, but i was talking with other Challenger owners

i feel funny taking it to a car show since its new, but since it was a small local drive in type i figure its proper

I took my daughter with me and entered a car show. Car has only 250 miles... There were over 100 cars and did not expect to win anything. To my surprise, I got a top ten trophy. Kind of felt bad....most cars were old classics and muscle cars and the owners put a lot of time restoring. Mine was just like it came of the lot. I think the seats were a major plus.

even though huggytree is posting on this thread, I will agree that the IE seats are show stoppers. Just messing with you Huggytree.

had a 5 year old girl put her arms on my hood...i said 'dont touch the car' and the dad yelled at her...10 seconds later she touched my door....her dad screamed at her this time

i teach my kids no touch at car shows and anytime they get within 1' of a car i repeat it over and over....my kid like exotics...i dont want him scratching a Ferrari

It probably threw a CE light because you were driving too slow in it. A 392 shouldn't be driven at 35mph. Bugs will suicide regardless of how fast you go. A bounce dryer sheet and some detail spray and they come right off. Show off the interior, thats what gets alot of the comments i get on mine, just having an interior thats different than all the rest of them they see.

Have to agree with them though, a 392 IS a high dollar car, at least for most of the people that ride around in econoboxes.

They probably mentioned the "high dollar cars" because they can't afford one, so it's either out of jealousy, or a comment on how rich you are.

Took mine to a couple events so far, I get the 20 something girls going gaga over the paint job and the little boys thinking it's a giant Hot Wheels toy. Then a few old farts like me that remember the purple from the old days.

Nice to hear about the shows. Dadstoy, I've seen a lot of posts about 392 CEL and simialr problems that all seem related to O2 sensors.
