I have bought my 2016 Challenger this July and had it paint corrected & ceramic coated in August.
Since then, I have been daily driving her ever since.
I've began to notice the area behind front wheel body panels/side rockers are starting to look really gritty.
The following picture is the condition right after a wash with a pressure washer.

Is this common for ceramic coated cars? I will get mudflaps but the damage(?) has been done.

I am concerned this might be deeper than the ceramic coating and would require compounding...

Are the tires wider than stock? That looks excessive. I had 3 different narrow body Challengers and never had that problem. I didn’t daily drive mine but I didn’t baby them either. The day I bought my Widebody I ordered Rock guards for it. The Widebody cars are known for chips.

Not to sound like an Ahole, but did you only use the pressure washer? Or did you also use a sponge or mitt. Did you actually do a contact wash. From what it looks like, you fender wells seem quite coated in dirt. Just because you have a ceramic coating doesn’t mean you don’t have to do a contact wash. If this is the case.

If you did they I’m not sure what to say. Perhaps get in touch with the individual that applied the coating and get their opinion. Good luck.

Ceramic coating is not meant to be a replacement for mud flaps. It is to stop staining from acid rain and bug guts, bird dropping things that would other wise eat into the finish if left unchecked. The clear films are the best way to protect those areas that see road debris like what is being done to your car. Your ceramic coating specialist will help I am sure

The tires are stock 245's on a narrow body.

Stock 245's on the rear. The rear wheel panels do have some marks like this but not as excessive as like the picture.
