I am told that there is a regular 2009 Challenger R/T and a Challenger R/T Classic which was made toward the end of the year. What is the difference, and which one was fancier? Any idea on production numbers for the Classic? I already read the other post about 2009 numbers (31,500 Challengers total for all models, ) but saw no mention of the classic.

The classic is the upscale RT, usually stickered between 36k and 40k, came with Heritage style rims (look like torque thrusts but better) had more options available. Also the classic was the version you had to get in order to get one of the high impact colors like B5 blue, Detonator Yellow, Plum crazy etc. My classic is loaded, stickered at 39424.

Like what Lord Warlock said above, I would just add that the Classic package was really just an appearance package, paint, wheels, stripes, script badges on the fenders.

2009 R/T Deep Water Blue

Although Deep Water Blue as a whole is not rare, there were only 450 6-speeds made in 2009. The original owner put every SRT option (could not get the SRT in Deep Water in 2009), short of the 6.1 Hemi's in Big Blue. Although not a classic, every option short of the stripes. :)
