In looking at tires on Tire Rack, I noticed that it sells Somitomo tires at a really cheap price.

An HTR A/S P02 all-season 245/45/20 tire sells for $122 and a 275/40/20 tire for $125. They have a V speed rating and carry a 500 AA wear rating.

Tire Rack's Consumer Survey rates them as good earning a 7.7 out of 10 rating. Also, its road test results state:

Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 (Ultra High Performance All-Season, 245/40R18 97W)
  • What We Liked: Good winter weather traction matched with passable dry and wet performance
  • What We'd Improve: There is some room for improvement almost everywhere
  • Conclusion: An acceptable, if not category-leading, blend of characteristics

Has anyone used these tires? If so, what has your experience been with them?

I have not used those, keep in mind they are only a v rated tire though, but I have Kumho Ecsta 4xii tires, and they are awesome and much more affordable than Goodyear F1. In my opinion they are better. Others opinions too. In the link there is a review and video test review on them. There aren't a lot of tires that can beat the wet weather traction of these. You can find them cheaper. I got them locally for a better price at Discount tire... The disappointing side is, they don't make a wider tire than 245 on 20".... I don't understand why. I would buy another set of these but wider next time, but since they don't offer, I'm force to seek others..

I loved the F1s as far as traction and handling, I thought I would have a hard time beating them, but these tires are awesome and all around better, especially wet

Also, keep in mind that Sumitomo is a main source of tires. They make tires for the big brand names (Goodyear, Dunlop, etc.) . This is why they are cheaper, not because they are junk... They are a very good name brand, but not as many hands on them before you get them... Kumho is the same.... That being said, I'd still lilo OK for something with a higher speed rating than V. Although, they would probably be great for everyday normal use.

These are my kumhos, the only pic I have right now

For these lower priced tires, how well do they last? Obviously the Challengers can chew any tire up fast...

I'm currently still on original set that came with the car, but thinking after this summer (coming up)...or possibly during it...I will be needing to replace them.

The range in price is overwhelming!!

I use my car as a daily driver (and am starting to tinker with it to increase it's HP) that I only use during the spring/summer/fall months so don't need all season, but I can help but "gun it" every time I drive it so would like to have something with decent grip so I don't have tones of tire spin.

Did you end up buying a set?
For those that have...what are your thoughts on how long the tire lasted?

Just got a set of these for $108 each.

If they last me 10k miles I'll be happy.
I have a set of the AZ800s and over 25k miles and they still have plenty of meat on them. For the price their not bad especially for a daily driver... I know the AZ850 is a softer compound (320AA vs. 420AA for the AZ800).

The pic below was just taken and it's the rear (which I've been beating up lately).

Been running Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 all-season tires after the dealer installed tires were off. Would definitely recommend these, great handling and nice smooth ride! Here's a thread we're I commented on these tires in alittle more detail:

Also, Sumitomo newest tire model is the HTR A/S P03 which are the ones I have on my car. 👍

Sounds like you made up your mind, let us know how they perform. Also never have ordered tired through that website, would be interested in knowing how your experience goes.
Will do.

I'm running Sentury's 245-40-20's on my SRT8 Magnum and they are doing well. I have about 9,000 miles on them and they were cheap new.
The link I provided above for the Delinte tires are made by Sentury.
They have a 50k warranty on them but ill be happy to get 30k at that price, which will take me quite a while to put on 30K.
