P0028 is a generic OBD-II powertrain code, that applies to all makes and models of vehicles (1996-newer). It refers to Intake Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2.

I would start by checking the oil level. If the car is low on oil you can sometimes get this code because the timing advance solenoids use oil pressure to advance the timing. If the oil is full, then the solenoid itself may be the culprit.

As long as the oil level is good, you can drive the car for a while without hurting anything, but you will have poor performance if bank 2 timing is not advancing properly.
