Something I do to keep the crank from turning (i don't have air gun to pnuematicly loosen it) is put a nylon rope in the cyclinder and when the piston goes up it makes the crank not turn. After you pull the rope out any residue will ignite and burn out without hurting anything. I've never done this with a HIMI but it works on other cars.

Its basically a press fit. Standard threads. If you find that it is turning the entire crank, put the tranmission in gear and it will hold it still.
