Tired of spending your almost $4/gallon gas on just going to work?
We've got a better idea...Let's Drive! Yes, it's time for another
All Challenger cruise in the scenic Texas countryside. This will be
a "Best of the Best" cruise incorporating your favorite segments
from our previous cruise routes. We'll blast through FM3090 outside
of Navasota, carve up the 'zig-zags' outside of Fayetteville, and
dominate Bernard/Bostik Road east of New Ulm.

What:
This is another World Famous cruise hosted by your cruise-masters
Ken and Chuck in association with the Texas Outlaw Challengers.
It's a 175 mile loop on curvy and hilly 2 lane roads.
No boring interstates. No cruise control.

When:
Sunday May 15, 2011. Drivers meeting at 9:45 am.
Cruise begins at 10:00 am sharp. Come early.

Where:
We'll meet up at the Shell Station/BBQ on the southwest corner
of U.S. Highway 290 and FM 362 in Waller, Texas.

How to participate:
Just show up! No sign-up sheets, no reservations needed.

What to bring:
The usual stuff you would carry for a long drive, especially
sunglasses and money for lunch. The lead and trailing cars will
be in contact by FRS radio, so if you have one, be sure to bring
it and help us stay organized.
We will hand out printed maps of the route that morning.

Are there rest stops?:
Yes. We will be stopping about every hour. There will be rest rooms
and gas/supplies at each stop. Along this extended route there will
be two rest stops with dinner at the end of segment 3 at
Tony's Restaurant in Sealy, Texas.
That will put us right on I-10 for a easy return trip home.

Arrange your busy schedule now and plan to join us.

Let's Drive!

Sounds good. I've been waiting for another run. Can you give me the route, because I don't want to end up in Sealy; too far from Taylor?

.
If all three of you guys make it again, I would be happy to extend my co-pilot seat to whomever gets the short straw and draws the backseat.

Awww, Chuck! Didn't expect that but the family sure does appreciate it! I'm sure we'll take you up on it. After all, you're one great cruise-master! Looking forward to a great cruise, beautiful cars and special friends.

---Gotta love the Pacer. I drove a Gremlin right out of high school. Good times.

Thanks again.

Don't thin kI'll be able to make this one. We're doing the Mopars at the Motorplex that Saturday. Big Daddy Don Garlits will be there in his Challenger Racing as well. Sorry about the timing, I always enjoy it when I can make down there for these.

It's always difficult to schedule these events, as there's so much
happening every weekend. Mostly it's just Chuck and I coordinating
our schedules and hoping others are able to join us.

Hope to see you next time!

I'm still waiting on the route. Can somebody give me some road numbers, so I can plan where to leave off to head back west?

The route maps are on my Google Maps and can be emailed to you.
PM me your email address and I'll get that out to you in the morning.

The second segment ends in La Grange, which is the closest to Austin
on our route, but I suggest you stay for the entire cruise as the
third segment has 2 of the 3 best roads, and our dinner stop at the end.
We'll be in Sealy which is only about an hour from Austin.

Nope, it's 2 hours away unless I can drive 120 MPH. :) Still not that bad.

We'd love to have you and your husband join us! It's not like cruising
Italy or the Autoban, but for SE Texas it's pretty good.

Hey there... it would be just me. We're living near Wichita Falls now. He'd stay home with the kid & dogs. My parents live nearby so I think it would be a great getaway weekend!
