Here was my choice. No thin stripe on hood and carried matte black onto front facia and also changed badging. Color matches the matte black side stripe that goes from front all the way to rear. This was just my take on modification of the stock stripe set-up.

On a black car that hood might look pretty good. I would like to point out that it's a little concerning to me that your painter can't measure properly. You can just look at that hood and tell that the center is off. The passenger side stripe is way bigger than the drivers side.

The part that I don't like the most is that square corner with the sharp square edge on the front corners of the hood. There are so many curves on this car it just looks off.

I do like the center and painted on aspects of it. But then you get into the conflicting of the decal side stripes and the painted on black, it would look really nice all slickly painted on. My buddy has been trying to convince me to get my stripes painted on instead of having the decals, but I'm just not there yet.

I too did matte finish single stripe like Rubel. The gloss actually looks great, but then the side stripes should be gloss too! Border is unique...I'll give you that.

nope...not good with the edges...but , i'd love to see someone adapt the 69 roadrunner dual hood stripes on one of these, limit it to just the hood, don't include the fender tops.......might look ok....still tho', i would love chrysler to bring back the whole T/A look.............

not liking it either, if custom painting there has to be something better.

I was surprised to see this thread pop up again but it's a good time to show the final version. The hood graphics are painted on and the Grillcraft Grille holds the new metal badges like those found on a 1970 Challenger and a 1969 Coronet. I used the bigger Coronet Badge because it is the only place on the car that says RT. I have the script Challenger badges on the fender so the brand is well represented. I also had them paint the engine cover red and black. In all I have - hood struts, Solo Exhaust, Pred., painted hood, new grill, all metal badges, Brute Force CAI, and I have the T/A hood stored in case I want to put it back on.

looks great...personally I like the bordered design you had before.
but I'm like another person who likes unconventional appearance mods as long as it's not ridiculous (skittles paint scheme for example)

I got a good deal - I think. I bought the 2010 Black hood on the forum and the body shop painted it Tored both sides with the graphix, installed my SOLO exhaust, CAI, grille, grlle badges and painted the engine cover for $725.
