The only way I know to open it is to crawl through the back seats and pull the lever in the trunk.

You could hook up a charger to the front connections as well to charge the car up, but I don't like using that front connection to charge the car, I like using the battery lol

I've tried jumping the car with the front post, doesn't work, but it does give it enough juice to pop the trunk, then you could jump from the battery. Or fold down back seat and reach in to the release handle.

Yup, gotta use the backup metal key to get in, fold down the seats, feel around for the (now dark) trunk release. Astounding in its superfluousity, the trunk release button is electrical and will be no help. There is also no handle or strap to lift the heavy battery out of that deep-ass battery well. Hope you got good vertebrae, disks, and traps ;) (I went through this myself last winter due to the latest Smartglass door sensor failure draining the battery overnight. Fixed under recall, at least)

Oh yeah, that backup metal key will also set your alarm off if you use it when the fob battery goes dead at the grocery store. Again, brilliant :icon_rolleyes:

The handle of the emergency trunk release cord is like the dials on your wrist watch, it will luminesce when exposed to a bright light, e.g. the sunlight, a flashlight, a campfire, a flashlight, etc.

But the easiest way to go is use one of those jumper boxes like what car lots have to jump start cars with dead batteries. Hook that puppy up to the jump posts under the hood, turn it on, then hit the trunk button on your key fob.
