Hey guys thanks for dropping by! This place has been super helpful since I began looking to buy a challenger.

In August I purchased a 2020 DODGE CHALLENGER SCATPACK WIDE BODY!

Here she is when I took delivery from the dealership!

So I never really expected to mod out this darn thing but after 2 months of owning this bad boy I keep messing with it!

Day 1 of ownership - 1 November 2020
————————————

First thing I did was pop that yellow nonsense off the lip. Did not want that crap on the car any longer than needed and made sure I got rid of it before leaving the dealership.

I took her to Scottsdale Muffler to have the mid mufflers deleted before having 100 miles on her.

Once I had that taken care of it was on to a few other things I wanted done...

1005062

Little motor bling with the oil catch can.

After that I went to a tint specialist. Arizona summers are brutal so window tinting out here is essential. I went with 5% non metallic tint on all windows except the windshield. Went with a 35% there. Some people might argue against tinting the windshield but the darkness isn’t very noticeable and this isn’t my daily driver. Additional UV blocking was the intent.

The next step was to add some airflow. I love the concept of the hellcat airbox so I had to do this mod. I went to Mopar warehouse and ordered the OEM hellcat airbox and added a KandN airfilter. Steps went good until placement of the new airbox. Took me a little bit finally got it in. No real photos of the instal but....

So I have 20/10 vision. Because of this my attention to detail is pretty good. The bad thing is I see everything... I noticed pretty fast that the clear coat and paint on these challengers leaves a lot to be desired. So I went with a complete Xpel ultimate custom full body clear bra.

Also I can’t leave well enough alone so after this cured I picked up some third party mud flaps to keep any kicked rocks or anything from being thrown from the widebody tires.

And that’s it for now! Everything else I do in the future will be a forum reply!

So what’s next?! A tune? A cam? Upgraded drag tires? Carbon fiber drive shaft? Maybe I stop drinking and lose 20 lbs? Love to get other peoples input!

And if anyone wants to see my Instagram for this ride it’s @desertscat392

thanks again for stopping by!

interested to see what you did. I'm thinking of adding some BT bling to my new SP Widebody, can't decide on what color to add though.

looks great man! did you do the PPF yourself? I had my front end and flares done but wondering if I could do the rest myself. Also, how do you like the look of the rock guards?

my suggestion for new stuff would some more billet stuff under the hood to match the catch can. Under hood kit, hood prop covers, fuse box cover (maybe custom with the car's insta name or something).

The first pick looks amazing. I really like that color, but hadn't really considered it since I had a grey mustang and my current car is a green/grey. I recently saw a black Challenger with red side stripes, red brembos and the ruby interior that looked really good too. But I told myself, never get another black car after all the issues and work to keep the genesis coupe clean I had a few years ago. But then again, I may be getting a house with a garage soon, so that would help.

Man I'd love to add the catch can when I get my narrowbody but I've seen rumors some unscrupulous dealers will void the warranty (even though there's no way it would cause damage). Also read those mudflaps are absolutely necessary if you want to avoid rock damage to your paint job, good thinkin. Also going for a clear bra myself, I spend most of my time going between Laveen and Chandler. They should call Phoenix Rock City and not Detroit.

I'd be careful about mechanical mods while it's under warranty. FCA has gotten tough on warranty claims and even if your mod didn't cause or attribute to a mechanical/electronics issue, the litigation could get ugly. It seems that the addition of a catch can is about the only thing that FCA doesn't kick.

Nah I had a shop do this for me. If I was talented enough to do this myself I would start my own business. Im trying to convince a friend of mine to open up his own shop.

Im sort of meh about the rock guards. Theyre not as wide as I had hoped but I rather do what I can to keep the paint and appearance of the vehicle looking as new as possible.

I think I ordered a billet set. Gotta see if it ever ships.

For sure man. I never been to a place where rock chips and cracked windshields were so common!

Likewise brother. PM me your IG so I can follow back. Your pics are awesome!

Yeah Not sure how I feel about the warranty stuff.

So I believe I have a clearly defined goal for my car. I want to hit 11.99 in the 1/4 at the track. I have seen guys on IG claim they could do this with a tire upgrade and a muffler delete but that sounds suspicious. So that is the goal. I just wanna reach it by doing as little as possible to the car!

How do I suppose I can reach this?

Unsure honestly. You guys will know more than I will. Right now I am under the assumption the best way to improve performance with minimal impact would probably be upgraded tires like the MT drag radials and maybe a carbon fiber drive shaft swap. After that maybe some track time to see where I stand? I dunno what do you guys think?

a lot of people did it by just what you did+ drag radials and rear seat delete.

you can do 11.99 all day long with just that.

i’m saying this because i saw a ton of guys on youtube do it ,mostly with chargers which is even heavier.

so you dont need more mods to get 11.99 , just drag radials.

other mods + weight reduction should get you in the 10’s

look in this forum too.

actually put on the tires and see for youself lol.

they can’t all be lieng tbh.

have a good one!

Yeah for sure man I dunno I saw one guy on IG post up 11.8 with just tires. That would be impressive. Call me skeptical but I don’t wanna be the guy thinking he’s faster than he is. Tires and a track day is in my future for sure.
