All,

I installed my new MagnaFlow cat back yesterday and the first step in the installation sheet says to disconnect the battery so "This will allow the computer to reset itself to the new exhaust".

Is this really necessary? I didn't do it because I didn't want to have to reprogram all my radio presets and such....

Thanks,
Skarn

I didn't do it when I installed my Solo Performance catback. There is some merit in resetting the adaptive learning, but you can do that by pulling a fuse. I think it's fuse #1 or 2, but check the thread on Challenger tips and tricks to be sure.

I had a local shop install my catback system and we didn't think to disconnect the battery. No codes thrown since the install. The only odd thing was that my remote start wouldn't fire immediately after the install. Once I drove it home though, the remote start worked fine.

Didn't do it for my Zoomers, no issues, but I have a manual.
