My IE #977 is now got 1806 miles, and I'm wondering if anybody on here has taken a BONE STOCK 392 with stock tires to a Strip and run it with some real 1/8th mi, or 1/4 mile times, and speeds !!!!!!!! No BS, just real times and results ! I am going real soon, and will be interested in compareing et's and speeds ! Also how they ran, as in brake stand ? See I don't think my car is very fast, as some people on here have said there cars are ! etc,,,,,,,,,Thanks,,,,,,,John

I don't know... there's been quite a few slips posted here.. 12.3, 12.4, 12.7 etc..

Bone stock low mile cars... Temp, Humidity and Altitude are the big factors.. The closer to sea level the better, the cooler the better..

2 things will affect your ET more than anything (except a blown launch): 1) the DA and 2) M6 vs. A5 tranny.

DA can affect your ET 3-4 tenths and the A5 is consistently posting 3-4 tenths better than the M6. That is why you'll see an A5 in great air run a 12.5 and an M6 in crap air run 13.2. I've yet to see an M6 run better than 12.8 and that was in 200 DA air.

I will run mine this fall when the temps drop. Not going to bother with temps in the 90-100 range.
I always get a base line run and a base line dyno BEFORE doing any modes so I know how effective the mods are.

THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONCE to my question's ! I've been a Drag Racer since 1956-to now ! Now have to sell my race cars,not my street cars, just race cars ! And I'm used to going fast, thats why I asked all those silly questions ! Anybody want a C/SA 70 440/6pak RR ? Or 65 Dodge Coronet 2dr 426HEMI SS/CA ! Sad to say but I've got to retire ! Thanks again...........John

About a month ago I took my IE to the track and it was 100 degrees and very humid which it is year round here in Louisiana and I got a best of a 12.86 at 110mph. On that pass it still spun but I caught it quick enough that it didn't slow me down to much. I went from a 15 to a 13.50 then to a 12.86. It picked up everytime down the track. It has more in it I just haven't taken it back over there. But like stated before the launch is the most important part in this car with the low gear setup.

We are interested in the 65 Dodge. Is it an original hemi car or a clone?

Street tires, or drag radials? And is your car automatic or manual?

Sorry took so long for me to reply but I have stock tires thats all i run. And mine is an automatic. I didnt use the auto stick i just left it it auto. On youtube there is a video that is 392drags and it is Dodge testing them at a track. The driver some how got the car to hook out the hole real well and went a 12.44 at 110mph i believe. Check it out

I'm hoping more of you guys get to the track soon with your 392's and keep posting those numbers. Hopefully we see a trend of a lot of mid and lower 12's. I was disappointed in the numbers a lot (but not all) of the magazines got. I need to see times faster than the 13's so I can justify a possible upgrade LOL. Seems like a lot of the mags are coming up with a 13.0 or 12.9 quarter which is fast I'm just hoping for a bit more. I have seen one of the Mopar mags come up with a substantially faster time though so I'm encouraged.

For you guys in the know about 392's are the automatics trending faster than the manual trans cars as we have seen in the past with the R/T's or are they covering the quarter in about the same amount of time?

On-Board Performance Computer

Has anybody checked the on-board performance computer against the drag strip time slips? I'm more apt to go mark off a 1/4 mile then go sit in the heat to make a couple of passes at a drag strip.

I have a billet & Black 2011 auto with a 100 shot nitrous outlet plate system, jet 180 stat, CAI, and m&h drag radials and was able to run an 11.73 at 119 as my best time so far. I think with a little more work I will be able to get into the 11.5X range.

great numbers for July temps. I am still going to wait for fall.
