E brake adjustment

I replaced the rotors and pad on my 2009 challenger, when doing the back I had to back off the e brake a lot just to get the old rotors off what is the proper set up to get the E brake back, right now it will not grab the foot pedel will go all the way to the floor lock, pressing it again and it will release and return to the top.

Parking brake off
rotate adjuster star wheel from back of plate until wheel is locked
back off 6 teeth
check for drag, if dragging, back off one tooth at time until no drag
do not back off more than 17 teeth from lock
repeat on other side
Note to tighten:

  • Left brake – Rotate star-wheel toward rear of vehicle.
  • Right brake – Rotate star-wheel toward front of vehicle.
