The Hellcrate has been unleashed at SEMA, and it hath the fury of horsepower. The Mopar® brand is bringing the heat with a new 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI® Engine Kit — nicknamed the Hellcrate — that injects 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque into classic street and off-road vehicles.

To help set the tone at the 15,345-square-foot Mopar SEMA exhibit, Graveyard Carz star Mark Worman is on site to debut a 1970 Superbird Tribute build with the new Mopar Hellcrate HEMI Engine Kit — a fitting combination of power and attitude. Worman and his Graveyard Carz team embarked on a faithful clone restoration of the Limelight Green Superbird, and then decided to tweak the ’Bird with the Hellcrate to truly make it fly.

For gearheads inspired by the burnout marks Worman has put down, the new Mopar Hellcrate HEMI Engine Kit provides relatively simple plug and play with the new 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Engine assembly — also available from Mopar. The Mopar Hellcrate HEMI Engine Kit marries modern 707-horsepower performance with authentic, factory-backed quality.

The kit comes packaged with a unique Hellcrate logo and installation tips. Just follow the instructions for the included components: a powertrain control module (PCM), power distribution center, engine wiring harness, chassis harness, accelerator pedal, ground jumper, oxygen sensors, charge air temperature sensors and fuel pump control module for the 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Engine.

The PCM is unlocked and set to the factory 707-horsepower calibration. The Mopar Hellcrate HEMI Engine Kit is optimized for use with manual transmissions, including the Mopar Tremec Magnum transmission kit. An essential Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) kit, which includes an alternator, power steering pump, belts, pulleys and more, is among the additional engine accessory hardware components available to assist in installing the Mopar Hellcrate HEMI Engine Kit.

The Hellcrate is a true original. It’s the first factory-direct 707-horsepower crate engine kit, and it can power any pre-1976 street or non-highway off-road vehicle, making it a versatile — and sinister — choice for Mopar and non-Mopar vehicles alike.

Call me dumb. But what is involved in replacing my 6.1 in an 09 challenger. Just the hellcrate or do I also need the fead?
a lot and a lot more since pre 2011, non vvt application

not something the average person can do, best guess on a non vvt car, 22/24k installed and tuned, not a bolt in, wiring will have to be fabricated, modify, pcm will have to change etc

That's an awesome price.

Truly, these are the good old days.

If I didn't already have a 500-inch stroker RB in my '68 Charger, I would definitely want one of these

So let me get this straight. The blower comes with the engine, just like pictured. For $13899.00. That's a heck of a deal. Then installed and tuned for around $11,000?
One last question, boost? Will it be macanical like the 09's. Or electronic like the hellcats
