Installed new rotors and EBC Redstuff pads, I can deal with the brake dust, but not the squeel. Anyone else have similar issues with these pads?

I was wondering the same. The redstuff pads are on my short list. Don't want them if squeal is an issue.

I had red stuff on one of my previous cars, had the squeal so i pulled them off and put a coating on the backing and contact point/pistons of the calipers. Never had a problem after that. It is possible that your pads got overheated and are glazed so you could get a high speed sander and carefully sand them. Even Brembo pads squeal when they get overheated it's normal.

i have the yellowstuff and they squeal from time to time, had to wear them in. I red in a lot of places that the redstuff squeal. For me though, the tradeoff for better and more resilient braking is worth a little squeal.

As far as I'm concerned, the squeal I get off and on from my Yellowstuffs is just a sign to others that I have better brakes. Like an auditory badge

The thread is about red stuff pads which is more of a street pad than the yellow stuff pads. The yellow stuff I would expect more squeal due to the compound. I would think the red stuff would be almost as quiet as stock.

I have no experience with either EBC pads, only what I have read.

Red Stuff Squeals because the are high performance pads. You use them because you want to stop quickly not because you care about noise.

This is why i don't use red stuff

All I had EBC Redstuff on my E55 AMG and they worked great!

I'll be putting them on my car very soon. Here's the trick with them; They will squeak when new but you have to bed them. I found a long empty road and did the following:

1. 0-60MPH and right at 60MPH, hit the breaks hard all the way down to 0.
2. 0-40MPH same as above be sure it hit the brakes hard
3. 0-30MPH same as above.
4. By now you will smell them so drive around for 10 minutes, trying not to use the brakes and let them cool.
5. Go park your car and drive it the next morning.
6. All Squeaks will be gone.

Basically what this does when they're new is beds the pad to the rotor and gets rid of all the impurities with the new pad. After I did this they never squeaked again.
