I am looking to swap out my hood emblems due to fading. Anyone know of a protectant on the market to help the finish last. I found this by 3M. Anyone ever try it? Its made for paint, dont see why it wouldnt work on emblems. Attached is a picture for the fading and a link to what I have found.

3M Paint Defender - 3M Paint Defender Spray Film - AutoZone.com

Thanks in advance for any help/input.

U-pol clearcoat has UV protectants, but a gloss clear will add glossiness (as would the 3m product you mentioned). Consider a coating. Sonax Polymer Net Shield is an aerosol and would give you months of protection

Sonax Polymer Net Shield is formulated using an organic and inorganic network of hybrid polymers. This new generation of polymers produces crisp, clear reflections while protecting paintwork from UV rays, acid rain, bird droppings, airborne contaminants and even road salt.

You'd have to mask and recoat after 6 months or so. Just another possible option. It would also add some gloss.

There are also matte clearcoats
