I've owned my new 2014 rt for 7 weeks -1900 miles now. A clacking started this past Friday and check engine light came on- been a nightmare at every level. after many calls / rental hassles (to get a dodge dart) I get a call Tuesday telling me that they MIGHT get to it next week. However, they looked at it briefly and believe the cam is screwed up or the lifter arm broken. Bottomline - engine pull. Dodge customer care center has been bad too. Got email saying I'd be contacted in 10 freaking days. So I called repeatedly and bounced around. After both constantly reminding me my free rental dart runs out soon, the dealer "agreed" to cover the rental (how nice of them). So, I'm spending $35k on a new car I'm not driving, and can't even get an ecd for when they'll look at it. Based on my car fax experience I estimate my car has depreciated 5 grand easy. Did I mention the brakes have been squeaking for 500 miles?!? Any advice or recourse I have? want dodge to "make me whole".

Sorry to hear of your problems but we had just the opposite with my sons 2014 R/T.... My dealer was very good about repairs and Chrysler/Dodge reacted quickly for a resolution. I think you need to reconsider your dealer though..... That seems like a long time to wait when your car is not useable.

Like Yellow Jacket 12 mentioned - the early years had some broker rocker arms turn up, but overall not that common.

Its a pretty quick fix the replace them.

Thanks for the replies. So I just hung up with Dodge Customer Noservice for the 5th day in a row. I've been promised for 3-4 straight days that I would get a call back regarding my case (let alone a status on my car). I've even now twice been told supervisors were notifying other supervisors. So, the nice young man tonight was finally wise enough not to commit to anything as challenging as me receiving a phone call back. Told me to call Monday. When asked why, he informed me they don't work over the weekend. I reminded him, apparently they don't mon-fri either. I just counted the times I've called this week: me 6, Dodge 0. I bet my car payment will keep coming due though. Unbelievable.

Try contacting Chrysler Corporate Headquarters. Back in 1996 when I had an issue with a dealer for my Dodge Avenger, I was able to get a line to the corporate office. They helped me out. Here's what I found online.

This is where this thread should stop. Follow up on this and keep your grumbling off the Internet. Everyone appreciates the frustration you're experiencing but give Regina a chance to help you. Good luck getting your car back on the road, it appears the dealer needs a little "encouragement" from up the line.

Really? Who decided that? His "grumbling", as you put it, sounds like a legitimate problem that is being ignored. Yes, a post by dodgecares is a step in the right direction, but I would like to know how it goes either way. If dodgecares get this thing taken care of, great, good to know, if not, I for one, would like to see how this works out.

I hate reading about people having problems with their challengers, but that doesn't mean it should be covered up. If Dodge/Chrysler is suddenly stopping taking care of legitimate warranty repairs, all of us owner should want to know about it.

Cthau1976, sorry that you're going through this, and I for one, would appreciate knowing how this works out, best of luck.

Yea, you're right. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

In my defense this thread came along at the wrong time for me because I own a business and everything we have ever sold over the past 25 years is unconditionally guaranteed forever, no questions asked. This guarantee is printed on the label of everything we sell and prominent on our website. But still, there is always someone who talks **** on the Internet about something they bought from us instead of simply emailing me (I personally handle all customer relations issues) and letting me know what the problem is so I can take care of it.

Unfortunately, that just happened this morning before I came here and my frustration ran over onto you guys.

So, my apologies... Things are obviously different between small businesses and major corporations who need their chain pulled every once in a while.

Peace, out. :hippy:
