So last night, after making a 3 hour drive from Augusta,Ga to Charleston, SC my friend noticed my car was making an odd clicking noise from. This was a solid 5 hours after I had parked my car and not touched it. We popped the hood and heard the clicking from multiple locations under the hood. I narrowed down the loudest to the ASD relay. I pulled the relay and the car simmered down. I suspected there might be a bad battery connection, causing a short, so I popped the trunk and found a small pond in there. After bailing my trunk out like a sinking canoe, I tried to dry things up the best I could. I am assuming there is probably a connection between that water and the ASD going nuts. My best guess is that there are gremlins under the hood sending Morse code, but I hope someone can offer something better.
