My R/T frontend got wiped out 2 weeks ago so I’m upgrading the front bumper cover and hood to A Hellcat front (Proudly still running my HEMI and R/T badges) but my question is do I have any water, car wash , snow ,salt concerns leaving the Heat extractors open? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I just got my 2020 Scat Pack, but my wife's 2015 Jeep Rubicon has the heat extractors and no issues driving year round, although suggest if using in the winter to clean the snow and ice out of the areas as big chuncks form.

Regards,
Jim

There's a plastic cover that Hellcat used over the ABS module so you want to get that from your dealer and put that on, other than that, tens of thousands of Hellcats out there just like it.

Is the SP hood more functional than the "shaker" hood option as far as the center air intake to engine with the two air extractors for engine heat? Regardless of which hood the engine is rated the same in both of these hoods on Challenger.

T/A would be the best and it could make more power on the road without them changing the rating.

Thanks but the options that are available to me are the "shaker" hood option or the SP hood. The T/A isn't an option for me.

Just the intake system not the whole hood, thought it would work.

SteveWhite has a kit to use the center scoop on the new (19-21) SP's for air intake over to the high flow airbox in the pic above. You can also see the scoop attached to the hood in the same pic.

That is the pic in post #11? That looks like an opening on the bottom side of hood. Also come of these Challengers have a closed element air box where the air filter is not open or exposed? Which one is the factory set up the closed box or the open box like in pic #11?

The Scat Pack hood center scoop just brings cold air into the engine bay, not the intake. The Shaker scoop is connected to the intake, but I doubt it adds much. Shaker is a costly option, so you'd want to really have the scoop (appearance), otherwise, I'd say a toss up as to "more functional"

I agree more cosmetic and a tribute to the older Challengers of yesteryear that had the shaker. Expensive cosmetic option. Plus with the "shaker" option I don't like the idea that it blocks access to the oil crankcase even though they say it's an easy step to remove the 5? MOPAR special bolts in any event just more stuff to take off to do regular maintenance that one would normally have to deal with and more stuff in the way.
