I want to make sure before I buy it, but will this

Miller Engine Lift Fixture 5.7L Hemi 8984 - eBay (item 370472925026 end time Feb-05-11 18:15:20 PST)

correctly mount up to a 6.1? Part # matches service manual. Just want to make sure I don't need anything else to mate it to my hoist.
You will need this adapter also..SPX Miller Special Tools | Detail: 8984-UPD - ADAPTER, ENGINE LIFT
It usually comes in the complete kit..http://millerspecialtools.spx.com/Detail.aspx?id=1693
It attaches to that long stud that comes out of the front engine cover.
If you have a manual trans you will need this clutch alignment tool also..http://millerspecialtools.spx.com/Detail.aspx?id=1565&gid=6

I just used a chain diagonally across the heads. Pulled out really nice. :)

John, that tool as is will be fine. You don't need the stud adapter. I built my own that mimics the factory tool and even though mine does have the stud portion built in, doesn't need it IMO.

FI you didn't use the adapter? Where did you hook the chains on to?

i use a chain along with 2 of the small head bolts on the top of the block.

Look at the second block in this picture and you can see the chain and the bolt sticking up.

Since I still had the heads on, I used the bolt holes in the front and back of the head where the ground straps or accessories would go.

Like Cam said, you don't need the other part of the adapter if you go that route.
