Hi everyone. I removed stock exhaust and installed flowmaster American thunder a couple of days ago. When I removed the stock exhauat from the passenger rear there was a metal braided wire or flat cord. Should this be reattached, is it a ground wire? Anyone know?

I'd reconnect it. Rear-mounted battery after all... might be the best place to tie the chassis to the drivetrain electrically (remember rubber engine mounts isolate the engine from the chassis.) Older cars had a ground strap from a cylinder head to the firewall, but with the rear mounted battery maybe they figure the exhaust pipe is a good path forward to the engine.

Or it could be for static discharge. Either way, its not a big deal to keep the connection, is it?
