I need some help here guys. Back when I had a 72 Duster modifing the exhaust was as simple as putting on some straight pipe after the headers, adding some Thrush mufflers and then some more straight pipe to clear the rear end. It doesn't seem that simple today.
What is the factory exhaust on a 2009 5.7 hemi challenger? I've heard 4 mufflers. I've heard 1 "bat wing" muffler and then "Suit case" mufflers. Then there is the resonators. Is it really 2 mufflers and 2 resonators?
What do the resonators do?
I just want my Hemi to sound like a Hemi at start up, idle and driving down the road.................but kind of quiet on the inside.

i have a 2010 im sure its the same. its one "suitcase" muffler, which seems to be one giant housing with 2 mufflers merged together inside then you have 2 resonators...i just put in 2 super 44's and seems too quiet to me then again maybe i was expecting more. they say they need to break in and that will make them louder, dont know how much truth there is to that

i just ordered my cherry bomb elites for my r/t i loved the cherry bombs on my dodge ram so im hoping its the same for the challey. Now im trying to figure out what clamps and reducers i need for me to install it correctly. i have 2.25 in exhaust on it but i could only get the cherry bombs in 2.50 so i have a .25 gap to make up. Also im replacing the suitcase with the cherry bombs and running turndowns so i dont heat up my tranny and rear. no rear exit for me anymore. Considering some custom side exits if a certain company completes the kit for it.
