Texas Mile will be October 26, a bunch of folks going to that one also! Reason SAMs car didn't run in March Mile is he was replacing the blower that made the 205.7 last year, with a Twin Turbo setup, along with all the body and aero work he did to make 2012 time it should be something to see! (Also like to KEEP pointing out this is a supposedly "too slow to race straight line" 6-speed car) VROOMMMM! :D

um, interstate. lots of long roads between Houston and KC. did the round trip for 18 months.

you can find a long straight away were there is not another car for miles.

hit 188 in my red TA between Boise and Salt Lake.

Bill's and Chris's I believe were stock. Stock ZR1 Vetts mostly run in the 170's in the mile. There is not a lot of stock cars out there that run in the 160's in the mile.

There will probably at least four 200MPH Challengers at the Texa Mile in October 25th,26th, & 27th. Challengers will be well represenited at this race. I would like to point out Sam was one of the first Mile Racers and I did not hear from anyone that his 6spd car was to slow. He gave me a lot of help on my first race. Roy was also one of the first Mile racers and he ran 204+ his last time out. These two drivers are the fastest two Challengers out there at this time and both great guys.

That and all the stuff that went boom when he ran it. It still sits waiting to be repaired from the bottom end blowing up, otherwise he'd make the trek locally for him across town to the event this year....On correction I think he ran 195s with his blower and then ran 205 with the twins before the bottom end windowed.

There is a lot of open road where you can drive a fast car fast. I have had GRIZZ to 205 with four of us aboard (900lbs of Western Romance). It took about 40 sec and a approximately 1.5 miles to perform this feat. Keep on driving and having fun. People that have not been on these roads do not understand. I felt safer @ 205 where we were running than on the interstate in So Cal going to the race at 55.

I would hope I could hit close to 160ish stock. kinda surprised that a stock ZR1 is not in the low 180s.

Mile Racers

And were back! I enjoy reading about these cars, hope we can continue. I know I wouldn't be anywhere near the top, but I would love to do this. Remember the Mopars back in the day came with a warning to keep wide open throttle limited to 13 seconds or something like that? Too cool!
