Fellow Canadian's Who Ordered a Hellcat

55390 Views 239 Replies 50 Participants Last post by  Cruisin1966
I was just wondering if anyone has an update on the status of their HC who got a VON when ordered? I ordered July 23 when my dealer call and said he was able to place an order. I called my dealer on Friday and he said no change in status still in B something status. Dealer has been family owned for over 55 years and has a Five Star Status (highest quality service rating awarded by Chrysler Canada), got an email from area rep and said they were going to build 3 HC per month for western Canada with first ones going to Vancouver and with the amount of orders for HC it might take 3 years to get one.I talked to the dealer in Ontario where I bought my Yellow Jacket and said they would get one HC but it would be about a month before they could option it, and he said they would build 50 HC for Ontario. If anyone would like to add to this, true or false, I would appreciate it.

My comment was in reply to other comments made here, the dealer didn't commit to buy more of anything. They placed sold orders for three and two were accepted in July, mine arrived today and another is sitting at the auto port in Dartmouth NS and I for one didn't pay any additional premium.

Any dealer to do that would never sell me another car. So far I have been involved in the purchase of two chargers, a Charger RT a Caravan a 3 dodge Rams a Longhorn Dually, town and country van 2010 FF SRT challenger 2009 RT Challenger and a 2010 sxt challenger. Mostly from Dartmouth Dodge. They are genuine in all they do. Top notch in every dept. so you can be played by the others or buy from your friends, the Dodge Boys at @Dartmouthdodge

You didn't answer my question. By the date of order, I assume a Challenger WHICH IS NOT BOUND TO SLOW MOVING VEHICLES. The Challenger orders have a bit of randomness to them, but sales results, plus area rep relationship.

The Charger Hellcat is bound to purchasing slow moving vehicles. Let's try to keep all this straight please.

Just the title says the dealer is a clown by calling it an SRT8 hellcat. It's like the people owning 60s-70s plymouth muscle cars and they claim the colours are PCP or hemi orange... Drives me crazy
Here

Has anyone in Canada had a VIN issued? Has anyone in Canada had their Hellcat built - received delivery?

The reason I am asking this, is that I have been informed that my car (ordered 1 day after the order banks opened), given a VON the next day and moved to "ready to build" status has had no progress.

I have been told by sources that no Canadian cars have been built.

Please respond if you have any information on this, as it is very important to me.
I ordered mine in July, built in Jan, waiting for me at the dealer on the tenth of March.
Orders for what? Chargers or Challengers?

I'll assume with your comment on the "sprinters" (actually Promaster vans), you were referring to Chargers.

Your dealer has agreed to "buy" multiples of a particular vehicle in lieu of these orders. There is no other way to get these orders filled. It may not be the Promasters, but it could be Fiats, a bunch of Darts, or some have mentioned two-wheel drive trucks (4x4's are infinitely more desirable around here).

Around Calgary, the average asking price (if not a lottery or auction, re: Eastside Dodge) is $90,000 for the Challenger (similar numbers are being reported on the Chargers around here) and I was reminded of that when my dealer told me MSRP and not a penny less on mine. The Charger I had ordered (potentially built this week) has been pulled to be offered to another customer in lieu of never getting his Challenger order filled this year.
I guess even though my dealer has come through with my car and is sitting in the showroom until the snow melts, the rest of the stuff he tells me in your opinion is lies. He was not required to take any extra vetch of any type to get his hellcat orders accepted. Those are just the facts, believe what you want from what ever source you want.

He has Charger Hellcats coming and 2 Challenger Hellcats on the ground sold with another order coming. Again no pro masters or darts or 200s tied to those orders.

And with the fact he sold his Hellcats pre order with 1 paid for and two others with large deposits, he will actually get more allocation.

You guys can all enjoy the time making assumptions while I sit in my Hellcat smiling.

When all the dealers around you tell you the same thing and you see a gazillion promasters on the lot all of a sudden, you start to put 2 and 2 together. It could also be a regional requirement, we never know.

I also can't wait that you get your hellcat that way you will be out of our faces at 200mph.
West coast thing.

Maybe your dealers are dealing with that.
There are no pro masters on the lot here in Dartmouth. And he has sold three Hellcat Challengers and have Chargers on order.

Not here to pick a fight just telling you what I know locally.

Understood.

And if they're treating the dealers out "west" differently, what does that say? Lucky for you and your dealership.

And just to be crystal clear, out here it isn't always Promasters (happens to be at my dealer). It's also been reported to be Fiats, basic Darts, or two-wheel drive 1/2 tons to get an order in for a Charger Hellcat.

My Challenger Hellcat will be the first delivered ("J" status currently) to my dealership. Their first order is still in "D" status from back in late October or early November.

My car was ordered in July. The third ordered by my dealer and the first to show up on the lot. Another guys car is stuck in storage at auto port in Dartmouth.

I have a good relationship with my dealer principle and he personally bugged the "Hell" out of his Chrysler rep about the car. He told me as well that what Chrysler is doing to allocate these cars is lottery like. No one knows how they are sending or accepting orders.

Like I said mine was ordered in July, built in January and Delivered to the dealer on the 10 March.

But don't believe me on the process as I can only speak to how my dealer worked for me and they have never let me down yet.

Not arguing at all about the process (secretive as it may be) for the Challengers. I have frequently stated it's "random" (re: lottery-like) with a dash of sales levels and how squeaky the dealer is with the area rep. I believe we agree on this point.

The discrepancy seems to be surrounding the Charger allocations, at least between your dealer and those out West from the information I have been able to gather. Seems strange that these things would be different, but without public statements on the allocation system for the Charger, anything is possible.

Like yours, my order was submitted in July (28th to be exact), built on the 18th of March, and is currently waiting to be loaded onto the railcar.

Congrats on your car. Hopefully with the strange weather out East, you've been able to get a little seat time
Still waiting for mine, although in fairness I ordered a sunroof so June production (unless another GWA restriction) been told my order will change status in a months or so, oh well maybe ill buy a Charger Hellcat too if I can get one of those.
Just offered a Hellcat in Edmonton with an ADM of only $5000.00

This came from a source from another dealership. The managers there are still sticking to their $91.000.00 price and don't seem pleased they're getting under cut.

I can wait for MSRP. I won't be driving on our streets for a few weeks yet.

Seems there is a recall or TSB on the Hellcats for a fuel line problem.
:grin2:Just got the word my Hellcat went into D Status for June production, yippycaiai
Update got my VIN double yippicaiai
Halifax Charger Hellcat

A red Hellcat Charger was sold to a guy in Alberta and the car was shipped from Halifax dealer. Sold for MSRP no MA
Three guys in our local club waiting on Hellcats got theirs; all within two weeks of each other.

- Hellcat Charger; initial order (when banks opened) at dealership A went to VON hell. Told August (!) delivery, possibly. Went to dealership B, they found an unsold car in transit and scooped it. 7k markup.

- Hellcat Challenger; ordered in the summer. Current car traded in. Finally arrived, and honored sale @ MSRP.

- Hellcat Challenger; also ordered in summer, and came in after musical chairs with the dealership owners' order. Sold @ MSRP.

As of today, there are at least 4 Hellcats locally here in Vancouver still at dealerships that I know of. All are either "sold" but still on the showroom floor, or have markups. One is a sold, plated and insured car, sitting in the showroom entertaining "offers".

Well that's technically a used car already. A car depreciates around 20-30% once taken off the lot. I'll offer them 50K, not a penny more for their used Hellcat.

R.K.
Mine is in the rail yard in Calgary waiting release by Fenkell. Projected to be delivered to the dealer on Monday, barring any unforeseen problems. It's been a long wait.

The Charger I ordered is also at the rail yard in Calgary. It's not mine, however. Once it was confirmed that my original order was filled, the Charger was offered up for purchase. It was bought by a buddy of mine, luckily enough.
