I realize or assume these have probably been asked a thousand times, but I figured maybe someone out there wouldn't mind answering them again.

I'm currently thinking about buying an R/T Classic and had a couple questions.

1. Does the R/T Classic include the 0-60, 1/4 mile time etc. function in the vehicle information center?

2. What is about the average stock 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for a stock R/T Classic? What about lightly modded (IE exhaust, programmer and intake)?

3. I assume the decals on the side of the R/T Classic are simply that, and can just be essentially peeled off and leave it none the worse for the wear?

4. What seems to be about the average real world MPG people are seeing with the 5.7?

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

If you are getting a 09 or 10 you can go to extended EVIC mode and get 0-60 but not GFORCE indications

I've heard people say they get 0-60 in 5.7 but mines 5.9 and some people get in the 13s with an auto in the 1/4 and about 13.4 slightly moded but mine didn't (14.2). I haven't ran in 35 years so that's most likely why.

They are decals but mine are still on so I don't know how much color change there will be if you take them off.

You'll get 23-27 stock on the highway useing cruise control

My R/T (Mopar 10) gets 13-15 mpg. The best it's ever got on the interstate, no punching it at all is 19 mpg. It's only got 1400 miles on it so maybe it will improve.

When mine was brand new I got 27 on the interstate useing cruise on a straight road. That was useing real (0 ethenol) 89 octane and I just went to CF2 with alot of RTs and they all got about 23 on the way there. They had some mods and tunes but that shouldn't have helped their milage.
There are many threads on this and if you look at them you'll see all kind of results. I don't know why that is.

First of all, you came to the right place. I just bought a 2010 R/T Classic in Hemi Orange with a 6 speed. Now to answer your questions.

1.) If the R/T is equipped with the optional Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), or steering wheel audio, menu controls. It has the 0-60 timer, but to get to it, you have to hold down the preset radio scroll button and menu button for a few seconds, and it will pop up. There is no 1/4 miles or G-force menu just 0-60. I suspect the SRT uses the same CPU for this but it is not programmed to pop up. You have to trick it.

2.) Motortrend has gotten 0-60 in 5.1-5.4 and mid to high 13s from their 6 speed testers for 2009. 5.0 for the 2011. Mods will get you into the high 4s from what I've been told or around SRT-8 times with a good tuner, exhaust, intake. The autos run faster times than the manuals.

3.) Yes, they peel right off.

4.) I have only filled it up twice. First tank averaged 16.5, second 19.2, and now I'm at about 19 with 2/3 left to go. I would assume with mixed driving, I will see somewhere in the 18-19 mpg area. I have seen around 24mpg on the highway, which is right at EPA ratings. The autos get about 1mpg better since they have the cylinder cut off on them, but you sacrifice a few horsepower (370/400 lbs of torque vs 376/410 lbs of torque). Plus, the 6 speed has a louder exhaust note.

If color is important to you, look for a 2010 since their selection is much better than 2011. Hemi Orange, Torred, Detonator Yellow, Plum Crazy, Furious Fuschia are all discontinued this year. The 2011 has some improvements though such as a new steering wheel, better leather/stuffing, quick access to rear seat on driver's seat (used to be only on passenger side), restyled door handles, better steering ratio, upgraded suspension. Power remians the same. IF you are going 2010, look for one with the $400 Super Track Pack option. You could get this option on the auto and 6 speed. With this option you get upgraded brakes, variable power steering pump, Bilstein shocks, larger sway bar than SRT, and summer performance tires. Basically, it is a handling package. It completely changes the way the car handles and was a deal maker or breaker for me. Drive a stock R/T and then one with this option, and you will see. PLus, you can get a R/T Classic for 8K off sticker without trying now. Bear in mind the 2011s are cheaper than the 2010s since some of the options on 2010 are standard for 2011. If I had ordered a 2011 it would have been about 2K more for one, so the difference is not that much. BUy the year and color you want.
Hope this helps in your search!

Thanks for the info guys.

I'm leaning toward the Classic version, but I also like the R/T Plus. Guess itll depend on the final look I'd like to achieve.

Thanks again.

Before mods, our mileage was 16 to 17 mixed city/hwy driving. With new exhaust and CAI, we got 23 hwy, no data on city driving yet.
Wow, I was wondering if upgrading the exhaust and CAI would improve gas mileage or to be honest, I was worried it would reduce gas mileage.

So far those are the only mods we've done and the next will be the Predator Diablo thingy. All 3 of those mods have positive impact on your gas mileage. Just don't forget to pull your chip every now and then.

After the Predator will come the fun stuff. But we drive 70 miles to/from work every day and 250ish miles to/from custody swap every other weekend.... every extra mpg we can get is a good thing!
