Ok, just picked up my 2012 Challenger R/T Classic.
Now keep in mind I work at a Dodge Dealer so if anything I ask you think that MOPAR would be better I would be able to get a much lower cost than the average consumer.

Want to get started with Mods, and have some questions on the best bang for the bucks.

1. Exhaust, looking at SLP http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sle-d31026
I have run SLP on my camaro and mustang and like the sound. As well as the Price.

2. Springs. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/eib-2895-140

3. Shifter. (sick of missing 3rd) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/huu-3916020

4. Intake http://www.summitracing.com/parts/huu-3916020
Ive never used voliant before (always been a K&N man) But this one seams to be the coolest (cold air),

5. Tune (ive been in and out of cars enough to know that a tune can make a world of difference, I have a tuner shop that a buddy of mine runs so it wont be expensive) However, is a programmer like diablo a better choice.

I am going to run a 100-125 shot (already have the kit off my camaro, just need to order the plate)

Is there anything you guys would recommend that i might want to do differently?
Like I said I am not new to cars, but this newer modern HEMI stuff is mostly Greek to me.

Thanks,

John

John, The stock exhaust flows real good except the rear resonators, they are junk. I would replace them with a pair of Magnaflow mufflers.
The stock air box and filter are hard to beat. Order a stock intake tune form a new Charger and you will be good to go.
I would go with the Diablo Intune tuner and get a custom tune from their tuner Johan.
You will be able to get rid of the 3rd skip shift issue with the tuner also.

First before everybody starts telling him what to do, get some more facts. The stock exhaust is different on all these cars and why would you put another set of mufflers in place of the resonators, you would then have 4 mufflers on the car and if it's an automatic without the super track pack it's running 2 1/4 inch pipe with 2 cheap mufflers already, the stock exhaust on 6 speed cars and R/T's with auto and STP have 2 bottle mufflers and 2 1/2 inch pipe, by just removing the resonators and using the proper resonator delete kit you can get better flow, quicker throttle response and a great sound. If this car is a auto without STP you need IMO a full cat back system.
The stock air box on an R/T is also restrictive, the SRT air box is the one that is hard to beat, it's tied into the front air dam and gets a lot of air. As for your tune, find a tuner you want to work with and ask him which one he uses.
Springs, I have put Hotchkis on R/T's and Eibach's on my SRT's , I personally like the Hotchkis on the R/T's for look and ride, I just put them on my new Shaker with 170 miles on it last week, it's got a level pro touring look to it and rides fantastic. Good luck with your new car.

Hey Cromer, I did not say the stock air box was the best thing ever made, But a stock engine will not benefit from the stock RT air box because it does get cold air from behind the grill, and it flows good.
The resonators are junk, period. Replacing them with a open straight through muffler will flow as good as a straight pipe with no drone.
And as far as a tune goes, not everyone has one in their neighborhood they can go to.

I plan to get the Barton shifter, I have felt one and it beats the hell out of the stock shifter. Also as far as springs go a lot go guy use the Mopar Stage 1's - they give a nice stance and since you get a discount why not. As far as exhaust notes go everybody has their own choice, I personally am in love with my Zoomers.
