@Fast Granny that’s a great choice on getting the entire coverage you chose. I highly recommend the rocker panels since to me they’re the most succeptible outside of the flares. The dirt accumulated isn’t really a big deal if you regularly clean the car and even if you don’t, the peace of mind created is a great thing!

My 2022 Scatpack Widebody got the complete front bumper, full hood, full fenders til the door line, rocker panels, and 4 flares. Rocker strip runs all the way past the rear flare to the back bumper. Very nice to have a little coverage behind the rear wheel. All in with an Expel warranty for 10 years was $2969. From my local shop with the best reputation around.

Once you do it, you won’t regret it!

Yes, I had the entire sides of my car done from the bottom up to the body line. The trim line makes the seam invisible. One of the few places where you can do partial coverage and it still be invisible. IMO.

I'd add the side extenders from Zl1 Addons, too, for max protection.

I have a factory order 22' TA 392 WB and picked her up 10 days ago - she was fully Ceramic Coated and Tinted last Friday and the results are fantastic.

Just ordered the ZL1 rock guards about 20 mins ago..

ABSOLUTELY get a ceramic coat done. She'll look great and be well protected.

Hello everyone,

I recently took delivery of my T/A Scatpack and have an appointment confirmed to get PPF/ Ceramic/window tinting after the new year. I finally found this clip from a PPF shop discussing the challenges of wrapping this particular package. Basically It seems to come down to two options recommended by everyone here and the installer in this video.

1.) Wrap around the fender and Hood graphics.

2.) Remove the affected graphics, install PPF, reinstall new graphics and ceramic coat after. More expense and probably around 400-500 for all new graphics.

Option #1 looks sloppy with seams arounds graphics including the 392 emblems on the front fenders. I just think I'm going to regret the appearance/seams and seam cleaning.

Option #2 seems to provide the most professional appearance and protection level so I'm going that route provided I can get the MOPAR graphics before 2024...LOL. My installer is on vacation so I will not be able to run it by him until January but one would think it's not a big issue..

Anyway, I just wanted to share this video for anyone that is thinking about wrapping the T/A model as this trim level has some unique challenges for playing nice with PPF.

Thanks to everyone on this thread as it got me thinking of options to address this and zero in on the final approach.

Have a safe and relaxing holiday season!

Yes, while more expensive, option #2 is the way to go. IMHO. With PPF, the less seams the better. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I'm okay with the detailers approach for the hood as the matte paint is scheduled to be wrapped with XPEL matte PPF....the matte decals were/are my challenge. I love my T/A package but it keeps getting more expensive.

You're really overthinking this.....thousands of dollars for "wax", or whatever it is, is insane - I assume you have a garage and the car will be driven sparingly/loved.....just enjoy it.....never heard of anybody adding anything but turtle wax back in the day

Have you ever had ceramic coating? Now that I have, I would pay double what I did when I bought my car. It's like magic. Nothing, I mean nothing sticks to it. Dried/baked on Summer bugs just wipe right off during a regular hand wash. It cannot be compared to wax. Anecdotal? Yes, but that's my experience with it.

I have Expel Ultimate on my car. After nearly 2 years, I can highly recommend it. Great product! (y)

im with you skt pk 9 i love the xpel ppf on my car, while i did not do the sides i did the entire front clip and the rear flairs, skipped the ceramic as i was not sure if what they exactly were putting on my car.

i have had zero issues with waxing the car to date and would do the ppf again if i was to buy another. i also think ill get some of my money back if i ever sell as the front of the car is flawless after 2 summers of driving.

I don't think you really NEED to wrap the fenders. The hood, bumper, mirrors, a pillars, and flares are what's going to be most impacted by debris imo.
I did the fenders. As long as I was doing the hood, the tops of the fenders are right next door and on the same plane.

I did the whole sides of mine. From the body line down. The most vulnerable part and the body line makes the PPF edge invisible. Saved money too!

Did you remove your stripes and replace?
Not a T/A like the OP. The only thing that needed to be removed and replaced was my bee emblem. Fortunately I took measurements and photographs before I dropped off the car just in case they screwed up. They did indeed put them too high. They were able to correct their mistake before I took it home.

@Fast Granny we have the same car with the exception that mine is all black.

So long as you don't run it through the touch car wash, the regular apply and dry coat will last a really long time and she'll look great. Do not overthink this, do not have your gorgeous decals removed to go over a little protective film. You need the ceramic application coat because its an Infrared retardant and hydrophobic - this will keep water spots off the satin and will preserve the color in your GoMango paint job.

There will not be seams or anything crazy and if you find anything, point it out and direct that they fix it. A lot of these shops are small business shops who thrive on customer satisfaction and good relationships - ask to see their work.

If you go into their shop and see nice cars getting work done to it, you can probably rest assured that your baby is in the right place.

The hardest part is the 3-weeks (takes longer in winter season) you need to wait to let the coating bake in along with any tint work you might be doing. Just follow the after-care instructions to the letter and you'll be just fine.

I'm very confident in my installer as I had previously taken a tour of his shop and at that time there were over eight high dollar cars staged including a Lamborghini. Some of them were complete and looked fantastic.

Did you also PPF wrap your front bumper/fascia and if so how did you address the vinyl graphic in front of the hood and the stripe points/tips in front of the fenders on the bumper ? ( I included a picture in the original post)

Great feedback and thank you!!

My front bumper has precut ppf and the matte decal has a custom xpel stealth piece. I'm at work, but I'll take a pic of it. The installer did a really good job
