Not really. I was invited by my friends at DCX to see the Challenger today in Orange County. They did an unannounced public preview of the car. The response was unbelievable. The first stop was a Hot Rod hang out in Huntington Beach. These guys are hard core old school Hot Rodder’s. When the car pulled in the place went silent. People couldn’t believe their eyes. From there we went to Crystal Cove in Newport Beach. On the way there the car pulled over to wait for the group (media) and Newport’s finest stopped and was just blown away. Needsless to say what a morning. Here are some photos.

Nice. I find it hard to believe those guys at CC care about a dodge. I went there alot last year in my F360 Vert and that is def more of a wine/cheese crowd.

We appreciate the pics really but next time maybe take more pics of the car like say "the actual car" instead of your mug taking up 90% of the shot.

What does the back look like ?? or an engine shot, did you hear it fire up?

My buddy John and the Dodge 'Challenger' concept...just what would've been even better - me there...taking photos of the two of you together, and I would've at least taken more photos of the car itself. Man, am I really 'bummed' that I wasn't made aware of this one. At least on a positive note, since DCX planned such a major media event for the 'Challenger'...does this mean that they're just about to finally make their announcement public? :D

Actually it was nice having his mug in 90% of the shots since we could actually get an idea of the real scale of the car.

Ooooooh man, you just had to do this to me. I'm half dozing, wandering around the internet, and I come here and find this. You lucky stiff fatchance!

And then we have the big boys at DCX still trying to make a business case for the Challenger. These guys must have rocks in their heads.

Thanks for posting. :)

Turnin the car loose in Southern California with edmunds, they do be turning up the publicity by degrees. A. To keep the public interested, while they go through the torture routine of their corporate feasibility studys and possible ramp up. B. Its a beautiful car with a ton of heritage behind it. (If this one doesnt make it to market ... outrage will be the likely outcome). Things are pointing at a tentative go by Chrysler, at least by what they seem to be doing with the concept. Plus the tie ins with racing and the various racing circuits to start differentiating some of their various circuits. I said some time ago new blood and new vehicles need to be out there though i mostly was thinking drag racing when i wrote that old post somewhere around here, my thinking was a bit short the ole circle jerk racing will majorly benefit from the new blood and a vehicle differential in the various circuits. Hot Dam* I thinks its gonna happen for us !!!!! The cars got the six speed and i just went through major shoulder surgery on the right shoulder with the possiblity of the same on my other shoulder. I cant lift a glass of water without pain right now!!! I am on my fifth week of recovery. The thought of banging gear s right now makes me wince. The thought of a new Challenger makes me smile!

:p You lucky basstards...to get up close and sit in it makes me jealous!

This would be a great promotion for DCX if they made a concept tour of the Challenger!

How in the world can I live so close to the OC and not know about this sneak preview? I'm literally shaking in my seat just looking at this beautiful machine! WOW! UNBELIEVABLE! I might as well go home now; I'm going to be useless at work today.
