Does anyone on this site have any Halo lights installed, I was thinking about switching over to them.
How much would they cost to buy and install and where I could possibly get them.

No. CCFLs break easily. LEDs are much more stable but I wouldn't put them in the fog light assemblies. The heat from the halogen bulb will melt the LED strips over time. (from what I've heard)

In reference to the installation price, the installation price is the same for LEDs and CCFLs. Basically double what the halos cost. If the halos cost $200, installation is $200. At least that's how it was for mine. Installation is installing the halos inside the light assemblies only.

Halo lights are fitted with halo rings around the main light bulb which gives a “floating” impression at night. This type of lights provides brighter and sharper light. Available in dazzling colors, such as crystal clear, platinum smoke, and black, you can choose one that will best illuminate your car. Black housings are more admired and popular in the market than factory headlights that are typically made with chrome housings. Of course, if you want to modify your car, it is better to choose halo lights.

I installed my CCFL halos. You have to be a little brave to do it yourself. Among other things it requires removal of the front fascia and splitting open the headlight housings.

I'm not that brave, just marginally stupid.

How hard was it to split your headlight housings? Did you bake them or split them and reseal?

I cut them apart rather than the baking. I watched a youtube clip on someone baking to split and the process just wasn't something I wanted to do. I understand and can handle cutting and gluing, so that's what I did.

I used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to cut the housings, and 5 minute epoxy to glue them back together. A little silicone sealant and they were done.

Thats exactly what I plan on doing!!!! :bigthumb:

So you thing that process was definitly better then baking right?
Where exactly did u cut? the plastic lense or the grey plastic housing part, or right where they meet?

No problems so far, leakage, humidity problems?

Sorry it took so long to reply--busy weekend.

I cut the black plastic housing just behind the groove where the clear plastic is glued to the black. Personally, I think the cutting worked just fine. Melting the sealant might have gotten really messy and I didn't want to deal with that. Cutting caused there to be some plastic chips to remove, but a vacuum cleaner took care of that.

I've had no lens fogging or leakage. I did put a bead of silicone sealant all around the cut line after gluing the halves back together.

If you've built model cars in your past, this isn't much different.

I'm putting my car back together and went with white CCFL halos in black headlight housings. I can't wait to see what they look like when I'm done.

Hey guys,
I have a red/white halo lights on order that will be coming in this week. They are leds ( I originally ordered ccfls but they were backordered 8 weeks and i'm just not waiting that long) and also have a switch. Anyways, I'll be installing them this week myself and I have very little experience in the matter. I'll be posting pictures and stuff, so if you have any requests of anything in particular you want me to picture/video tape while I'm in the process let me know so that it can hopefully help you out later if you plan to do it yourself.
