I know it's not a Challenger, but I figured I'd start here... I recently bought a 2014 Ram with an RA3 radio that had a functional NAV system on it. Since the thing had a dozen iPhones tied to it, etc, I figured a factory reset was the easiest way to clear out the last owner's junk. I did that yesterday, and everything seemed fine. I didn't really think anything of it, since what I had read said that once you upgrade to NAV on an RA3 radio, it sticks for the life of the radio.
I took the truck to the Ram dealer today for a recall, and afterwards, I decided to play with the NAV, and it wasn't there. When I go into the settings, the NAV database and server info is gone. Did the factory reset wipe that out? Is there a way to get it back? I didn't pay for the upgrade, and honestly, I doubt I'll use it, but what I had read before said it was a one-time upgrade kind of thing.
Another thing that is kind of weird, is that the dealership had replaced this radio under warranty, and SiriusXM shows it's a radio out of a 2013 2500, not the 2014 1500 I have. Would they have installed a used, older radio during a warranty repair? Ugh.
In any case, has anyone upgraded their NAV, and then done a factory reset? I'm interested in seeing what your results were.
Thanks!
