Ok so I use a thumb drive to load up some songs to the HDD, all was good, even listened to a couple to see how it sounded. I turned the car off went inside to get my kid cranked up the car only to find there arent any songs in the HDD any more. Tried loading again and it tells me there are no files to load on the thumb drive, so I take it back inside to my CPU and they are showing up on the drive. I head back out to the car and try again all seemed ok it loads to 100% and stays/hangs up there, so I pull out the drive and it says whatever was loaded will be lost, did this twice. Any suggestions.

How do I go about loading it up? Do I copy it to the thumb drive or copy it to a disc, also what type of disc DVD or regular CD?

Burn the RER firmware image to a CD and load it to the MyGig. There are very good instructions on the website.

For the Gracenotes update, you do the same except it requires a DVD for the large file.

You cannot update the firmware or Gracenotes from a USB drive (that I know of).
