Been trying to avoid posting this as its pretty embarrassing but...
I had a few headlights go bad and every time i try to replace them, they end up pointing too far down, to the side, or not at the road at all.

So which way should the connector be facing to point the bulbs accurately?

The bulb, when correctly installed, can only go one way. Make sure, when you change bulbs, that the old rubber gasket doesn't get left behind on the headlight assembly.

I have seen old and new gaskets stacked on each other and bulbs pointing all kind of weird directions.
