In Fords we used to say 8.8 inch or 9 inch as this was diameter of the ring gear.

GM's were 10 or 12 bolt or 7.5 or 7.75 inch, etc.

What about Challengers? Do they all use the same housing? Different diameter axles? What diameter is the ring gear?

All I know is my Scat has a 3.90 ratio.

2015-up V8 powered Challengers and Chargers use what they call the 230 RIA. That means 230mm diameter ring gear, rear, independent, aluminum. 230 mm = 9.055 inches, so it's pretty much a 9 inch ring gear.

My Scat also has 3.90:1 rear end ratio.

Do R/T's 5.7's and R/T 6.4L's use the same half-shafts?

I think the Hellcats use their own halfshaft with a different spline count, right?

Also, is the differential a Torsen, posi-style, or what?

5.7, 6.4 and Hellcat should be the same.

1320, Demon, Redeye, Hellcat Widebody and Scat Pack Widebody use HD shafts that have 41 splines at the CV joint.

They use the same 230mm rear end too although the Demon and also Redeye rear when equipped with the 3.09 ratio is different and stronger.
