No matter if you believe that the age of driverless cars has dawned or not, the results of the survey held by CARiD Team on autonomous driving might surprise you. Find out how many out of 1,034 individuals surveyed feel uncomfortable about the idea of riding in self-driving cars, how many of them are brave enough to trust their lives to the autonomous vehicles?

Find out the answers in our new article!

How do Americans feel about autonomous driving?

This technology will only work on limited locations with controlled obstructions and no bad weather. It's an urban novelty and nothing more. The technology is not cyber secure, not immune from EMI/RFI interference, and cannot adapt to unpredictable objects. Imagine all of the problems we have with the current technology in our cars, and then understand that these same problems affect everything the car does. The money would be better spend making mass transit safer, faster, more energy efficient for those not interested in driving cars.

I 100% agree with the last sentence. They are pouring all this money into making it possible to get around in a car without having to do anything yourself. That's exactly was mass transit is for. What's really the purpose of using a car then if you're not in control of it while it's driving.

When they finally do "arrive", they will completely revolutionize, read end, car ownership.
The day will come when you hit an app on your phone and within 10 minutes a driverless car shows up, takes you to work or wherever you are going and then goes to a charging station or to take someone else, when you are ready to go home, use the same app and up pulls your ride home. The money that will no longer be wasted on car payments, up keep, insurance and fuel will unchain society from the burdens of owning a car, and piling up debt just to be able to say, "my car cost more than yours".
Then again we will need to evolve into better beings and eliminate the "knuckle dragger" gene that clings on to old, outdated ways.
