Check engine light just went on my 2010 SRT and was trying to find
the actual error code on the dash/evic,

Anyone know how I can display this code ? If the MIL light is not flashing,
is the problem not that urgent ? Help pls & thanks !

If you have EVIC the code should show up when you start the car without doing anything.

I figured it out...had to do the key trick

1. Get in the car, close the door.
Perform steps 2-6 fairly quickly (less than 3 sec's total time).
(The key should not return to the OFF position through this next sequence!)

2. Turn key to 'ON' position
3. then back to 'ACC'
4. then to 'ON'
5. then back to 'ACC'
6. then to 'ON'


It was a loose gas cap (durr) code P0455...no worries !

Glad you got it figured out. That should only need done if you don't have an EVIC

Yep, I got the evic on my SRT...don't remember seeing
the error code till I did the key trick though. :scratchhead:

MIL went off (finally) a day later after I had retightened
the gas cap. :bigthumb:

The EVIC on the SRT does not display the OBD II error code. You still have to do the key trick.

Engine code is the 8th digit of the VIN.

No it doesn't. A predator or the key method will work.

I thought it would be like when it shows you what tire is low. That comes up when you start the car. Guess not, hopefully my CEL light won't come on so I'll never know.
