Let a family member drive my car and they scraped a parking lot bumper thing on the side and it broke the inner black plastic around the headlights. Can I take this to a Dodge dealership and will they be able to fix this? Or how can I get this fixed car is a 2022 widebody Scatpack.

To get it fixed? Take it to the dealer/bodyshop to find out cost and if it's worth an insurance claim. It won't be cheap- trim pieces are always expensive, and they will have to remove the bumper to replace if I am not mistaken.

I have a hunch you are not looking to DIY, but you could get a clean salvage grill (tough since most boneyard cars will have front end damage) or buy new and install yourself. Start with a video like this :

If you're really lucky and that broken piece of grille surround is the only damage (beyond the scuffs in paint), the part is under $300. I am making a wild guess there is not much potential for structural damage, since the damage to paint is minor and that plastic breaks very easily (especially in the cold weather I assume from pics you're having) when you catch it at the right angle.

It all comes down to whether you can do it yourself or not, and what you're willing to live with.

There are lots of YouTube videos on how to pull off and disassemble the front facia. It's not too hard a job if you have reasonable skills, a good place to do it, and a few tools. You'll need a grille insert; hands down. Is there anything broken internally? Probably not, but you never know. If there is, it'll likely be minor. A bumper attachment bracket, etc.

As for the paint, what can you live with? It could be as simple as polishing out the scratches the best you can, and leave it alone. If you want it perfect, then it's a trip to a body shop for repaint. Then there's the question of the paint matching.

So, if you can pop the facia off, swap the grille surround, polish out the paint, and live with it, then you're looking at the minimum cost. If you're looking for perfect, then it's a trip to the body shop, wait, and write a check. If you choose to get insurance involved, then there's the discussion about deductible vs. future premium increase, etc.

Best of luck no matter your path!

I'd resist painting the bumper cover if you can live with it. Factory paint is way more durable than a refinish.

Hopefully you did learn to NOT let anyone else drive your car.
Only you is the best insurance against this kinda thing.
That's as nice as I can be about this type of incident.

Alot of very good advice from fellow owners here to help guide how to go about this, pick a path and follow it.

Man I’m so sorry that happened to you, and I know it’s disheartening on such a new car. Personally I doubt there’s any damage beyond what you see. Get the part, study up on some YouTube videos, and fix it yourself. You’ll get some satisfaction and you’ll know your car better as the result.

Scratches look pretty superficial, I think they can be polished out by a professional detailer. The plastic trim however needs to be replaced, no way that can be fixed unfortunately.

Do you know where I can find a replacement for the cracked grille insert?

Do you know where I can find a replacement any websites you know of? Or do I just take it to a body shop and see If they can order one?

Your local Dodge dealer parts department (shipping probably too expensive ordering online). Not sure which is correct (or both) for your car. They should be able to tell, by VIN# if nothing else

The first one is for the Scat. The second one is for the SXT. Honestly don't think there's a difference between the 2 other than price.
