Driving back from Ocean City, MD yesterday I got nailed by a State Trooper for doing 71 in a 55. He indicated he stopped me because of my speed and because I did not have a front license plate. Fair enough. I was cited for the missing tag - $70 fine - but imagine my surprise when he said he was only giving me a warning for speeding. I'll pay that $70 fine any day.

I could be dead wrong but can only surmise he really liked my clean DWBP R/T.

Anybody else think they got a wink and a nod for speeding because of their car?

I notice the same thing. Guess it's a mouthful to say, or write.

I'm a retired AZ Trooper. Some times, officers write a less "threatening" ticket (with no points) because they're easier to "sell" and drop the moving violation to avoid an argument (provided the moving violation wasn't really bad). They get credit for writing a ticket by their sergeant and the violator is happy. I doubt it had anything to do with your car - keep in mind, Troopers are stopping lots of different cars such as Ferraris, Lambos, Bentley's, etc.

Did you cross the Bay Bridge between 6 and 6:30 PM Friday? I may have spotted you on Kent Island. I was headed east from work in my Dodge P/U, so you wouldn't have noticed.
Not me. I hit Kent Island around 5 PM on Thursday.

After thinking about this more, it probably was your car! DWB is a pretty sexy color...

Gotta love Rt. 50. I used to live in OC on 54th street in the summers. Worked at the Grand Prix gocart track on Rt.50. Good times man, good times back then.
Indeed. Took my kids there for years. Had a ball "racing" them. Now I take my Dad to Micky Fins for dinner, in the Challenger, of course. OC is still a good time.

A week after I got my Challenger a cop pulled me over doing 60 in a 45. He asked me about my car, it's engine, and said he'd love to hear it, to which I obliged. He let me go with a warning "Don't speed unless you know there's no cops around"
