Will be installing my new coil covers tomorrow. Gave the Scat a good bath today so I won't scratch the fenders when I drape them in towels. Never done this before. What holds the covers on and how do you detach them. Also, since it's a Shaker, I am assuming that all of the Shaker scoop and associated mounting hardware will need to be removed to get to the driver's side? Input welcome!

Grad ahold of them and rip them off. You'll be done before you know it. :)

You will need to pull the shaker off like you were doing an oil change.

Oh, and the shaker baseplate. 4 bolts.

Thanks, I figured the Shaker bracket will need to come off too. Like when I installed my Petty's stabilizer brace.

So, they have tabs that fit into grommets? I want to make sure I don't break the tabs or anything. When I do visual mods I always try to make sure the car can be restored to OEM for when my Son inherits it.

No need to pull the bracket. I had the hose between the base and filter box off as well because I was cutting my cover. You may not need to remove the hose from the filter box since your cover is already trimmed.

Rick- I dont know if this still applies but I saw a video on U-Tube where a guy with a shaker was installing these and he had to cut/modify the Shaker mounting bracket on the intake side. Just a FYI. I found it, link below

His was pre-cut by the vendor so hopefully he won't need to do that.

Wow, thanks so much! This is exactly what I am looking for. I will definitely watch the video first! Really appreciate your taking the time to help! (y)
Pics and a report when I am done!

Is it the cover or mounting bracket that needs to be cut? Or both? As @cruiserdan says, my cover is already cut. But, if the bracket needs to be modified as well....that's the info I need! Thanks Guys! (y)

I may have to take back what I said. I did cut my left side to clear the bracket. I did not cut up the bracket.

Better to hack up a non-structural piece of plastic than a critical bracket.

I was disappointed to find out they weren't doing the painted covers anymore. I was getting ready to order a set, bummer
I know, I feel so grateful I got in at the end.....kind of like getting my custom ordered Scat Pack before I even knew the apocalypse was just over the horizon.

I have some of those. But, the wife won't put them in the washer. Too heavy/big. So while they would indeed work better, at least I know the towels have just come out of the washer with no fabric softener used at my request!

Blue tape all over them or you will scratch them up, mine was slightly trimmed when I got it but it was a pain to clip in
Thanks! Great advice and I have plenty of blue tape! (y)

Can’t wait to see them installed!

After doing some vendor research, I ordered a set of “Go Mango” covers from GS Creations. I chatted with the Gentleman that owns the shop and I liked what I heard ( except that it will be 8-12 weeks out …LOL)

I’ll forward my experience to this forum once the order is delivered/installed.

And thanks to A Guy for the vendor link.
