Wife was going to work, almost rear ended on the interstate, that person pulls along side and yells "you have no brake lights". She calls me panicked and just tell her to use the flashers since she was only a couple miles from work. She has her co work verify they dont work but flashers do. I grab a brake light switch, which both the dealer site with VIN look up and auto supply calls for, 68141052AD Lamp Switch. I get to her work and low and behold, they work. I crawl under and can not find this switch.

That night when she gets home, I pull panels for compete access under there and the switch I have in my hand is no where. I do see a rotary switch that is riding on pin off of the brake pedal. I do some investigating and find my cars switch is STOPLAMP SWITCH - MOPAR (56038969AA) which looks like it is used for adjustable pedals. The car has adjustable steering wheel but not pedals.

Why does Dodge not list the correct switch? Is this in fact the correct switch?

Anyone else have an intermittent brake light issue?

Any help is appreciated.
