Hey, I'm looking to purchase my first tune for my '13 RT and need some help. I have a cat back and am looking to add a CAI with the tune but am not sure what to get. I hear Diablo is good but don't now if I should go with Intune or Trinity? For the money, is Trinity worth it and what's the advantage to it?

If you're wanting to datlog 1/4 mile passes or add a wide band and log your A/Fs then you'll need the Trinity. It has complete datalog functions. If you just want to load a custom ot canned tune and make minor WOT changes, the Intune is fine. Most just load a canned or custom tune and drive it. The Intune is great for that.

Thanks! From what I've read, the InTune is really easy to use. I'm hoping that's the case...

I just used one on a '13 R/T last week. Worked like a charm. May have to plug it into your PC and ensure it is updated the first time you use it. The first load takes 10 - 15 minutes but it is much quicker once your stock tune is backed up. It will ask you to turn your Ign on and off several times so some like to pull out the start push button and use the key Fob. If you push your start button once, you're in acc mode, twice is Ign mode (without depressing the brake of course).

I have the Intune and it works great in my 13 Challenger. Your best option it to pull the push start button out when tuning, and use the key to cycle the ignition on and off when installing a tune. I had Johan build me a custom tune, and I will say that the car runs and shifts a lot nicer with the custom tune. The torque management is no longer a issue, and the throttle lag is gone.
And for what it is worth, the stock air box and filter works very good. I does draw cold air from behind the grill, not hot air from the engine compartment like most aftermarket CAI kits. Just get a intake tube from a 13 Charger and you will be good to go.

Thanks for the input. Never removed the start button before. Is it difficult? I don't want to scratch or damage anything. If I want to cycle it without the fob, I just push the ignition button twice (with my foot off the brake) to get it in Ign mode and that would count as one full turn of the Fob to get the car in Ign mode?

You can pull it out with your fingernails. I use the push button on my car but there have been instances where it locks up. If it does, just pull out the start button and use your FOB and start the car. Then retry the tune. Chances are it will work fine but in the event, don't freak, just try the FOB.

Thanks everyone for your PM's and advice. I know that the custom tunes are the best way to go but with only a cat back and CAI, will a canned tune work good as well? I just want to make sure my initial investment in a tune isn't a waste until I can spring for a custom tune.

I'm sure this sounds stupid, but who is Johan and how do I get a custom tune from him?

There are a few good tuners out there.
He can be e mailed. You will send him a copy of your stock tune that you copy using your tuner. Make a file on you home pc desktop and save a copy to that file.
Once you send him or any tuner your stock copy the tuner will make you a tune and email it to you.
You then will take the tune and load it to your tuner, then flash the tune into the cars pcm.
You now have a tune, to data log certain PIDs your tuner will ask you for and then send you a revision if needed.
I suggest reading the install instructions from your tuner and get familiar with the tool best you can. That helps.
Good Luck

Johan is the head programmer at DiabloSport. He is highly recommend with less than 24 hr. turnaround after every email. [email protected]

He will have you make a datalog of your car with different driving conditions, and send them to him to start with. Hope this helps
