Afternoon all! I recently went from a 2014 R/T to a 2018 R/T Scat Pack and love the car, however I have an issue that I can't find an answer on here for it. Every time I start the car, I have to unplug and plug back in my iPod with my music. The car does not recognize that the iPod is plugged in unless I do this every time. I have tried to research it and call the dealer, but got nowhere. Any ideas?

Check your Uconnect settings for an "Autoplay" setting. Yours is a different unit, but on the 2016s a software update added this feature. It may be your issue. It's Settings> Audio, or Apps> Settings> Audio

This is from 2017 manual, should be the same on your unit

So sounds like the new cars don't have a hard drive or is that still an option? Just wondering.

A Guy, I did try changing Autoplay (and have left it on), however it didn't seem to have any effect. Thanks for the input though, may just have to live with it.

HI Moxmox1,

I apologize for any inconvenience you've encountered with your Ipod. Please send us your VIN as we'd be glad to look for any service bulletins or star cases and escalate to our Uconnect team if needed.

How old is your iPod? I had issues with mine after purchasing my 17scat. After numerous trips to the dealer and two new head units Chrysler said my old iPod was not completely compatible with the new 17+ head units. I lived with it for awhile as I didn't want buy a new iPod. My wife bought me a new 128g iPod for Christmas and now everything works perfectly. A lot of people had issues with their phones and iPods when they switched to Panasonic supplied head units in 17. Seems the new technology didn't like the old technology much. If you know someone with a newer iPod you should try it in your car before going to the dealer. Good luck.

I was wondering if that was possibly the issue. The iPod is 5 or 6 years old. Thanks for the advice.

They'll take away your Apple card if you have something that old :)

From what I understand after researching them they are basically an i7 phone but without the ability to make a phone call. It has all the same apps as the phone does. I will say it works great and connects almost instantly. I downloaded all of my songs ad playlist from my iTunes, over 3200 songs, and still have over 90gs of useable space left. Its so convenient to be able to select songs, artist or playlist on your 8.4 touch screen radio that its a must for me. I know they sell them at Best Buy and probably other places also.
