You must be feeling the lack of overdrive in these cars. Going from 4th to 5th gear does not drop the rpms that much. Thats why I have always said we got screwed on the overdrive gear. It needs to be a bit more steep.

I would have liked this a lot more for fuel economy thet the MDS thats for sure.

Mine seems happiest in the 2200-2400 range on the freeway, with or without MDS. Right around 75-80 MPH.
