Probably because regardless of anything else, he is living the ultimate car guys dream.

Rich guys have the luxury of disposing of their income in many ways. After taking care of the important things in life, this would be mine.

OMG Jay Leno got another car!!!
Well Woop de Fricken Doo...I could not care less about Jay Leno driving/owning a Hellcat.
It's his money and he can do with it as he pleases, that's one of the things that makes America great, but to me 750+ cars is an obsceneley indulgent waste of money that he could put to better use.

Just sayin and not disagreeing. It is a free country AND it is his money. Fortunes gained by lesser means have been squandered on much worse with no regard for benevolence whatsoever. JMHO

Jays opinion is better than the average Joe

The fact he bought this says a lot about the car. He owns 3 Challengers now. The original 426, the original #4 -6.2, and now a Hellcat.

Leno doesn't own every car he test drives

I don't think Jay Leno bought that Hellcat. His test drives draw enough viewers that the manufacturers drop by and answer questions about a new model, and then Jay drives a car provided by the manufacturer. At the start, Tim Kuniskis of Dodge mentions he brought an A8 rather than the M6 that Leno would have preferred. Not saying Leno won't buy a Hellcat, but seems clear that if he does buy one, it will be a M6 not this A8.

I agree that if money was no object, a garage like this is something I would have. Good to see success hasn't spoiled the fun of being a car guy for him. Whether you like him as an entertainer or not, there is no questioning his love for cars.

Bet he'll have one pretty soon.

2008 SRT would be a 6.1, no?
Yes, a 6.1

I bet that Jay Leno will have one of the first production Hellcats! I am sure the first 100 or so we spoken for by former and present Chrysler execs and the elite of the country just like the first 2008 SRT Challengers were. To them the price of the cars are pennies and the buzz of owning one is where it is at. Right now, in the auto world here in the US this is the hottest talked about topic.

# 1 is being auctioned at Barrett Jackson for charity , and yes Jay has enough money .

Loved the video. Love Jay Leno's love for Mopars.

Love the heritage tie with Leno's other red 1970 E Body. Loved the moving shots, Tim K's command of the details, and the cool explanation of the Performance Pages.

This is "free" publicity for Dodge and Challenger. Old and new.

I've been waiting a while for the Hellcat to be featured by Jay Leno. Best review of the Hellcat so far as I would have expected. Would like to see Chris Harris's take on it or Mike Musto.
I've never watched one of Jay's talk shows but I respect his passion for anything that is powered.
Don't beat him up for making a lot of $'s for being good at his job.
Be pissed at our respective governments for messing things up and the billions they squander because they are inept.
Given his money I would do the same. Have a hell of a lot of toys and employ a bunch of guys to look after them.

One yacht can cost more than an entire garage full of great cars. Give me the cars any day!

Here is Mike Musto reviewing the Hellcat for Autonation. As usual, strong production values narrated by a guy who knows his cars...
