Let’s exchange some fluids

Hello everyone, I’m getting the car ready for some maintenance. It is a 2012 RT, as far as I know it was well maintained by the previous owner and I remember looking at frequent oil changes but I lost that paperwork and don’t recall if he performed other services. I’m now at 39,000 miles and I’m looking to do a coolant flush, manual tranny flush and a rear diff flush. About how many quarts of diff fluid and tranny fluid will I need? I intend on using the recommended MOPAR fluids. Thank you very much for any help.

Side note, I am also getting the plugs replaced.

Isn't the factory coolant 150,000 mile stuff?

Don't know if I'd go that long maybe 100K but why are you changing it so early at only 39,000?

If the rear is a getrag it is just shy of two bottles

If a manual trans I think it was 5 if my memory is correct

If you do coolant plan on 2-3 jugs if you drain and refill
FYI if you do coolant you will have to bleed the system at the water pump

The owners manual says 70 something or 60 months. I’m about a year due :(

--Here's the 2012 R/T maintenance manual
--Excerpts from the maintenance schedule

Every 32,000 miles
32,000 Miles (52,000 km) or 24 Months Maintenance Service
Schedule
❏ Replace the spark plugs (5.7L Engine).
❏ Change the manual transmission fluid (if equipped) if using your vehicle for any of the
following: Most of your driving is at sustained high speeds during hot weather, above 90°F
(32°C), driving in dusty conditions, or stop and go driving.

Every 24,000 miles
❏ Inspect the rear axle fluid.

80,000 Miles (130,000 km) or 60 Months Maintenance Service Schedule
❏ Flush and replace the engine coolant at 60 months or 104,000 miles (169,000 km) whichever comes first.

I can't find where it ever says to change the rear axle fluid and the schedule goes to 144,000 miles.
*** Doesn't mean it's not in there just because I don't see it.

Thank you for the info, I don’t recall seeing the rear end maintenance but I also skipped it on my previous car (2010 mustang) and by 90,000 the gears were absolutely screaming, granted I ran that car significantly harder than the challenger but if I can prolong the gears life then it’s worth it IMO.

you'll need to buy 4 qts of fluid for the M6 - it takes 3.65 qts to refill it.

Thank you for the help everyone, I went ahead and had the coolant, tranny, rear end fluids flushed and the spark plugs replaced. All my maintenance is up to date, also everyone should look into getting that rear end serviced despite what the manual says, my fluid was nasty as hell.
