Hey there
Lowering my car is next inline of an endless string of mods. It currently has STP but I want to drop it one more inch. STP ride quality is already pretty firm and I don't want to get anything more harsh than it currently is. Need some people that have done this to weigh in on what springs they used and how it affected ride quality.

Eibach Pro's? Hotchkiss? Mopar Stage 1???

Thanks in advance

My 2010 R/TC didn't have STP, so I can only compare the standard suspension to the Mopar Stage Ones that I had installed.

Ride quality is as good as stock, just feels like it has more "control", with none of the stock bounce that it used to have.

No harshness at all with the Stage Ones.

Best of luck with your choice, you're ride will look killer lowered.

I have a 14 R/T Classic with STP. I used Mopar Stage I lowering springs. I liked the fact that stock with STP, My Classic sat lower than stock without STP. The results of the Mopar Stage I springs installation, and alignment, is between 3/4" - 1" lower. The handling is more taunt post springs install than before and that's a good thing. Next mod is Whiteline Adjustable front & rear sway bars. I want the suspension to be tight.

I'm most well pleased with the installation of the Mopar Stage I lowering springs.

Here's a pic;

I put Eibach Pros on mine, it lowered it another inch, and actually ride smoother than the STP springs did.

'11 STP car. Mopar stage 1's. mine went down 1"+ rear and 1.5" front. ride only slightly harsher. frankly with IRS these cars are pretty comfortable riding even lowered.

absolutely happy with everything about the stage 1 program, ride, handling, ride.

Mopar springs seem to be real popular with everyone. But if your worried about ride stiffness, you might look into coilovers. They ride much better than just springs.

Cool beans, and I'm betting that you will really like everything about them. Whatever group of Chrysler engineers designed this package, got it really RIGHT IMO.

Keep us posted. Can't wait to see a PCP sitting "just right"!

Rears are done, I'll do the fronts in the AM. I lowered the cradle as per directions, this is super easy.

What to do when you don't have the special tool, this worked ok

I used a strap wrench when loosening but it would not hold when tightening

Special tool?
Next time use an open ended wrench
Can't, the nut's down in the hole. That's actually pretty ingenious PSM450. I got lucky, the strap wrench worked on mine, but I also did mine when it had only a few hundred miles on it.

Ok finally done... did the rear springs Friday night, the rt front yesterday ( then went to the tractor pulls), then the left front today. The ride is firm, taught but not harsh. The real test is when the wife goes for a ride, she's had neck surgery so bumps hurt her.

Tips.

Front Springs, just follow the instructions it is super easy to swap the springs. I used a very good spring compressor, you can see it in the pics above. I gave my self extra brake hose slack by removing the bracket on the caliper. The socket with vise grip arrangement made taking the nut off easy. To break the shock nut loose I held the spring hat with a strap wrench, then switched to the arrangement shown. Upon reassembly I used a floor jack to raise the lower control arm up. (after installing the lower shock bolt and upper nuts loosely) The goal of raising the lower control arm was to align the sway-bar end link with the attachment point so I could just push it in and then tighten. See all the comments about clunk noise in other threads, hopefully taking the extra time for this step eliminates the clunk.

Rear Springs - Many people use the drop the control arm method, I just lowered the cradle as per the instructions. I was very easy to do, just go slow. You don't have to fully remove the rear shock, just remove the lower mounting bolt.

You've given me the confidence to attempt the Eibach Pro-System-Plus kit myself!
I'm also going to have to drop the rear cradle to install the rear sway bar.

Want to help since you already have the experience? :)
