Hey everyone... I have been reading as much as I possibly can but haven't found a solid answer. I have a 2013 R/T automatic and I'm going to purchase some lowering springs. I'm thinking the Mopar stage 1 Will work best, along with 20x10 +18 rear and 20x9 +18 front viper FR's, but I'm not sure what size tires to get. I don't want my car on the ground rather sit a tad lower and improved handling without having to modify anything else if possible and of course no rubbing.

According to my build sheet I have "performance" suspension... Not sure what that consists of but the part number in the rear shocks is P68072163AC and says SACHS.

Am I going in the right direction and any recommendations for tire size? Sorry for the newbie questions... I have been driving a truck for years now and this is my first time modding a modern sports car.

Not sure if they are optimal but I picked up a set of used nitto 420s for cheap. Since winter is coming up I figured I would wait until spring time to buy new tires. I should be getting my staggered vipers and new tpms sensors tomorrow. I picked up some 285/40/20 for the rear and 255/45/20 for the front. I plan to install my lowering springs and wheels this weekend. With this combo should I expect any issues?

You will be fine once everything settles you might need to do an alignment, also you will more than likely be right on the edge of the spec with your camber. I ran the 420s not a bad tire but not very good in the snow the rears will have a tendency to slide. As far as ride they were smooth, the wet weather they actually did well. Overall that's a good size combo. Myself I run a 275/40/20 front and a 315/35/20 rear with the staggered Vipers

Thanks guys. I'm hoping there's no rubbing but if so I'm not out much since I picked them up cheap. Thanks for the links as well. I've been on here reading as much as I can so I don't have to start a new thread but there is so much info and not all of it is accurate. With the +18 offset what is my best option for a good fit? Also any good threads on rolling the fenders?

I'm running the staggered viper replicas on a lowered RT (Hotchkis Springs) on 295/40/20's in the rear and 255/45/20's up front. Had to roll the rear fender lip a little to keep the rears from rubbing. I bought the Eastwood fender rolling tool- worked very well. If you or anyone else out there is interested I will make you a good deal on the fender rolling tool as it was a one time use tool for me. PM me if interested.

Right on!!! I was looking to buy one but I hate the fact it would be a one time use. I found a guy locally but he wants $200 to roll the rear fenders. I'll shoot you a pm now.

I would say buy it from him, then after you use it, sell it to the next guy that's in need of rolling his fenders. You'll come out way ahead of paying someone to roll them.

Those Eastwood rollers work really well, and it's pretty easy. Use a blow dryer to keep the paint warm so that it flexes and doesn't crack. Just make several passes rolling a little bit each pass.

Same color as mine. Nice looking ride. Like it. Your R/T has the stp option or not. Like the stance on the same. I almost bought the Hotchkis Springs, went with the Eibachs instead.

Almost the same color...mine is Redline red tri-coat (hard to differentiate in pictures I know) and yes its got the STP option.
You're right from the pics looks like Torred. Aprox how low did tbe Hotchkis lower your R/T. Looks really good. By the way, did you painted the rear spoiler or you replace it and the taillights, are they painted or is it a cover.

Alright guys I got the wheels on and while I'm happy I still have a few things to gripe about. I didn't install the lowering springs yet but that's on the agenda for tomorrow. My first complaint is the offset on the front wheels, I don't like the flat rim but I do like how the rear wheels are concave. Next issue is the ride quality, I'm not sure if it's the tires or the weight of the rims compared to the stock aluminum 18's. It seems like I feel every single imperfection in the road now and I'm hoping that the lowering springs will help. I bought some used tires off of craigslist bc they were cheap and winter is coming up. The tires are 285/40/20 and 255/45/20 nitto 420s. Thoughts??

20's have less sidewall than 18's, resulting in more road irregularities transmitted to the driver. Unfortunately, lowering springs will make the ride slightly more harsh.

Yeah I thought about that after posting that. What air pressure is everyone running.

Installed the Mopar stage 1 lowering springs today and without driving it I am about 1" lower. Before measurements were 27-3/8" front and 27-7/8 rear. I'm guessing after some driving they will settle another 1/2" or so. Discount tire had the tire pressure at 36 psi so I dropped the front down to 32 and the rear to 34 psi and that seemed to help but I hope it doesn't cause the tires to wear unevenly. I'll post pics once everything settles.

I have a 09 r/t and had load leveling shocks in the rear that had to be changed along with the springs. Mine dropped about 1 1/2 inch around. I'm running staggered 20 255/45/20 in front and 295/40/20 in rear toyo tires. Didn't have to roll fenders no rubbing heard. Would like to go lower any ideas or photos?
