Looking to get stock heads ported and spring/valve upgrades. Need a quick turnaround.
machine/headwork in houston area?

PM Hemisam he can connect you with a shop to do the install. PWR (andy) and Arrington has heads that can be shipped to you. If your doing the heads I would recommend a head/cam package for better performance:thumbsup: Good luck!

TexasChally, I was searching around for a quality shop in the Houston area. My dentist is also Mopar nut and recommended A.R.D. (Advanced Racing Dynamics). Reach out to "Space City LX" car club, they might know of one closer to you.

Every weekend there is something going on. Next weekend the 30th we are going to be at the Budwieser car show. Join the club and get weekly emails on whats going on.
We just made a deal with Hennesee to have a BIG All Texas Modern Mopar weekend at his place on October 15th.

SpaceCity LX is the bomb, plain and simple. Some of the best people you could ever meet in my experience. I'm a member and will be for a long time to come.
It depends on what you're looking for. Tuning in Houston for a 6.1 based motor is OK, nothing special. If it's a 5.7 based motor, this is a much more challenged proposition. I'd consider getting an e-mail tune if you know how to datalog but to do that meaningfully requires a wideband/O2 sensor or at least the sensor with a gauge so you can tell your tuner what the AFR looks like through rpm range and gears. The gauge alone will work if you're not blown. Either that or stay local and let them use a sensor in your tailpipe. I'm assuming you'd want a tune to go with a heads and cam package. Seems a waste to port heads and not beef up the cam IMO. Again, cams on a 5.7 based motor are challenged but you can get a mild regrind like I'm using. Tuning will be the challenge locally but given it's just head and cams you should be OK.
If you're intent on having your head work done locally, instead of say Arrington shipping them to you, then I'd hit up Modern Warfare as Scott suggested. They know heads and they know cams. I don't recommend doing anything else with them and certainly not a built motor. ARD are pretty good tuners and they used to partner with Steve of Modern Warfare so you could hit them up...off of Hwy 6 North. Corvette specialist but they're good guys.
You could use Late Model Racecraft, and they've tuned a friend's car which was a 5.7 based motor with a Vortech installed when this was just starting to happen in 2009, but they're specialty is LS motors. Smart tuner though. I've used their dyno.
I don't recommend Hennessey unless you just like bleeding cash and like a name on your car.

i plan on doing a cam too, just gotta do one thing at a time-boss has me on a budget. dont want to do cam first, dyno tune, then add heads later, and another dyno tune. i have a wideband i will be installing when i install my srt exhaust, hopefully this weekend. so i think i can tune for the heads if i can get them first, and save up some more cash for the cam/install, and one final tune on the dyno when all mods are done.
i was just looking to get work done on my stock heads, springs upgraded, porting, etc. trying to save some cash. a member on the forum has made an offer that it looks like i cant beat, so i will probably be getting their heads.
i just joined SpaceCityLX. I live on the southeast side. Hopefully be able to make some of the meets soon.

No sweat, bro. Just ping me here or on SCLX for my number if you need to chat at some point. I'm sure you already know that you can adjust fuel and timing with a Predator or Trinity only at WOT. That's the biggest issue anyway, but if it's a big honking cam you could have idle issues (vacuum). Shouldn't be a problem with a mild cam. Heads alone shouldn't be a biggie. a
